Hunt for powerful artifacts

Travel between worlds of books in search of legendary items of great power. Even though they are not as powerful in your world, you can still find buyers on the black market.

Meet dozens of characters and learn their stories

Visit mysterious castle dungeons, a drifting spaceship, a desert city among deadly sandstorms, and much more. Meet the inhabitants of those places and use them to reach your goal. After all, they are not really alive...or are they?

Find solutions to a plethora of puzzles, some quite… unorthodox

Some problems will make you think outside the box, and some will require you to travel outside of this world. If you are stuck, just wake up at your apartment. You may find something handy there that you can take with you on your journey. In a book, a crowbar may be just as effective against a lock as a key might be...

One of the more promising games of this year's Steam Demo Event by the Russian developers behind "The Final Station". You play as some sort of potato sack-faced freak talking gibberish in an FPS view and can apparently "enter" books to look around in them (which switches the game to an isometric top-down view for most parts, the FPS parts are just in-between exposition) and extract items from the books, which you have to do because that's apparently a job (to complete 7 orders) you have to finish to get back your ability to "write" your own book. The first mission is to get a "Potion of Immortality". Has a bit of a creepy vibe to it like Planescape/Sanitarium/STASIS, at least in the first world. You have HP and Ink (basically Mana) as resources and certain actions can make you lose HP, you can also spend Ink in conversation or to manipulate certain things. There's some turn-based combat and you need Ink for attacks. You can craft things like lock picks or crowbars back at your base. So you basically enter a book, look around and loot items, get out of it to craft shit and get back in to use the items where you need to. There seem to be different ways to solve some problems.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
This is an adventure/crafting game, where you collect or craft items to unlock new areas/actions but also have some very simple combat every now and then. The audiovisuals are good, crafting is a little bit annoying but I dislike crafting in games in general, it might just be me. It's simple enough though not to be a hindrance. Adventure elements are standard, if you imagine an ordinary adventure game this is exactly it. Combat is turn based, but there's no strategy to it, you just click one of the few awailable actions and choose the enemy. There isn't even a movement during fights, it's more like jRPG but with one character and without EXP.

The game is not entertaining to me because it has one fatal flaw and that is writing. It is subpar and full of unfunny little jokes. The atmosphere would be rather depressing and enthralling based on audiovisuals, but writing throws it out, especially since at the beginning of the game you get a talking metal jar and together 'argue' or crack unfunny jokes throughout the playthrough (idk how it is later but I doubt it changes). Every other action gets a comment from it too. Although, even without it the game would have an uninspired and not really thought-through writing. Characters do not act authentic enough to make the setting feel alive. Last of all, the game is fully railroaded, but that was to be expected already from the trailer I've seen before.
