They gain a +% damage per point in each, it isn't averaged.
Weird, then how come my club gets the biggest bonus of all my weapons, even tho it only has a C in str, while others have a C in both?

It's base damage is higher? Again, +% off base damage. An A in a weak weapon might only be as good as a C in a stronger one.
No. Comparing specifically the Reinforced Club with the Claymore, at 26 str, 12 dex, both weapons normal +5, the club does 145+61 and the claymore 154+54.

Also, the ratings are a range. Some weapons may be C+ and others may be C-, or anything in between.
How can you tell?

Capra Demon. :x:x:x:x:x:x :rage::rage::rage:
Jesus Christ, i hate this fucker. No, in fact i hate those friggin dogs. I was trying for like a 90 minutes to beat this trio from hell, but failed like a complete retard (which i'm i guess). The beginning of this fight is just too random for my taste. Now i'm grinding souls to enchance my chain armor set in hope, that it will help me a bit. I totally  this game, but fuck that minotaur piece of shit. : x

For all its failures, at least the PC port supports alt-f4 for streamlined ragequitting.

Two other possibilities:

Club requires less Str to weild than Claymore, so it gets more bonus damage because you're exceeding the requirement by more, relatively (note the claymore is still doing higher total damage.)
You're two handing the club but not the claymore. Two handing a weapon effectively increases your Str by 50%.

Not sure if either of those is actually the case though. I never cared much for blunt weaons myself.

Yeah it does; 12 vs 16. I guess that might be the explanation.

And while the damage is about the same at this level, the club swings a lot faster. It's an amazing weapon all around, but I'm trying to find niches for the rest as well.

It's not, reinforced club just has better strength scaling than claymore does. Unless they changed it for the PC version, claymore has 53 scaling at +5, but reinforced club's at 78. There's the full list at http://darksouls.lljk.net/1.04/weapons if you don't mind spoiling yourself on the available weapons, though that's for the console versions so it's at least a little out of date by now. Should be good as a rough guide at least.
It'd be kinda dumb if the bonus from scaling depended on the minimum stats to use weapons. Some of the heaviest ones take 40+ strength, they'd end up outclassed if the lower requirement weapons got better scaling.

I really love the level design. Walked down to that creepy garden, and found little narrow ways (and finally a longbow), then I found that hydra (is that thing even killable?), then I walked up to open the door, and voila, the iron rock motherfucker from earlier stands there. I love it how the levels are interconnected without being it obvious.

The best part is when you open the door, charge in thinking "cool, new area". Then his hammer slams down right behind you and you instantly know where you are. Also it's funny how he seems to peek out that door if you are coming and then run back to camp the corner.

Fuck, I got cursed.:(
Anyone know a good place to get purging stones?
I only remenber the undead merchant #2 at that little sewer passageway, close to Firelink Shrine...

Also, curse is such a wonderfull butthurting mechanic, not only it doesn't go away with death, but it also stacks! And before the patch there weren't purging stones, you had to go to the insanely hard to reach bro at New Londo Ruins! Watching gamers rage on this was so much fun.

Thanks felipepepe, I found her and she sells the stones. Cost a fortune tho, 6000 souls.
Yeah, I got cursed and prefered to use the Rare RIng of Sacrifice... 6k is too much at early game...
I found a regular Ring of Sacrifice at Firelink Shrine way back when I started, still have it. Never found a Rare one, what does it do differently?

Unfortunately I had the drake sword trick spoiled for me early so I try to stay away from it; would feel cheap. It doesn't scale with stats anyway from what I hear, so my club probably outdamages it by now. I found all sorts of heavy weapons that would fit my strength build perfectly (and now I got a ring that allows me to equip them and the heaviest armor) but they are so slow and unwieldy. And they all lack the nifty jump attack of the club.
I got myself 24Str now, wielding Zweihander that can be found in the Graveyard near Firelink Shrine with a sheild equipped, it's somewhat slow but I love the range and can even defend now xD
Killed the one-armed bandit guy in melee easy with it.

Fucking hell, after the gargoyles I just went through the New Londo ruins with the ghosts, but apparently that wasn't the right way to go. These ghosts are p. nasty, although I do have the Drake sword. This is some OG shit right here, going into a higher level area, I love doing that. Although most of the time it makes me cry

One thing I rather dislike is that the game kind of forces you to memorize what key you need for each door. You're supposed to backtrack a bit to a door that was locked before.

Also consider that different enemies have separate resistances to damage types. The Stone Knights are really weak against blunt damage, for example.

Yeah, the descriptions for the keys can be pretty useless at times. It's mostly a problem in undead burg/parish because you get like a dozen keys and theres an assload of locked doors.

Anyways, 4 kings are down. Way easier than I remembered, maybe they nerfed them in a patch. Also got my ass handed to me in the great hollow for very shitty loot. Onward to the second half of the game, I guess.

Finally found the DLC area:
Once you enter the Library there will be a crystal golem there, kill and , grab a pendant and them go all the way back to the first hydra, on the back of the where there's a golden golem.
You enter the area, there's a bonfire and the quimera boss, that is raping my ass VERY, VERY hard...

get 2 and 1 shotted respectively by the dark knight and the fat dude with the club at the bottom of the tower.
To me those Dark Knights are simply perfect in design, they are tough, great looking and fight in avery elegant way; they offer a challenge, but a skilled player can kill them even with very shitty gear and fell awesome as fuck. Demon's Soul had those red-eyed kinghts, but the design on Dark Soul's is way superior.

Whats the best way to progress or do I need to level up more?
try the dragon at the bridge, but don't fight ;)

Beat the dark knight with my Zweihander. What I really love about the game is how different the weapons handle and how switching to a weapon with lower stats on paper can turn a very hard fight into an easy one.

Treading water, but at least it's warm
Imagine if you suggested that a huge boss the size of a building should simply kill itself if the player runs away from him.
I must have killed this guy like 5 times the "hard way" until I accidentally killed him like that after I grabbed the loot and runned like a maniac. Very funny WTF mooment.

Shit, which boss is this? I never knew that

Alright. Bell gargoyles are deaders.

I also met the Capra demon accidentally, and alomzst finished him but alas space was tight so I died. and I learned later that I need his key to get to the depths, which leads me to Blighttown. Well, I managed to find a different way through the Dragon valley, and to my surprise there were only 3 fat kingcomrades, and then I got to Blighttown (just to die on some fucking poison arrow).

Which makes me wonder wether getting to the 2. Bell, maybe it should be better if I approach Blighttown through the Depths instead? Do I get faster there? And where the fuck can I find more bonfires?
