Is vanilla DS2 multiplayer still alive? I've been a hardcore PvPer since launch till January 2015, but since I'm bored I was thinking about jumping right back into the game. Not going to buy SotFS though.

Not so much as SotFS.

Wow...Scholar of the First Sin is a ridiculous cash grab that doesn't add anything.

Yet I bought it, despite owning all DLC. I feel dirty. :negative:

Simply because I'm annoyed by the lack of fresh meat players in regular PvP. Bell Keepers forever!!

Contender for "Possibly Retarded" tag ? :)
Are you talking about yourself? Because if you consider minor graphical improvements + some bullshit enemy re positioning / key item re positioning to make it look legit reason enough to justify the price tag, then YOU deserve a "definitely retarded" tag. Scholar doesn't add a single new map, From Software is literally selling the same game twice, hence "ridiculous cash grab that doesn't add anything" [to justify its cost].

Scholars should've been a free patch for everyone who owns the game + DLCs. The only ppl who benefited from this release were the ones who never bought DaS2 at release and, arguably, those who never bothered with the DLC. Faithful customers that bought everything on release got screwed.

Have they made any promises about not doing the same thing with DS3? If not, I think they'll get a lot fewer :d1p:s.

You are correct about Sotfs as being a crash grab. I had the wrong impression that you were complaining about the DLCs.

And yes, the netcode was improved to support up to 6 players from max 4 as it was in the vanilla.

So I was finally really getting into this game after getting Xbone pad, even bought Sotfs at full price and didn't regret it, had a (mostly) great time. But turns out bumper buttons on Xbone pads are unreliable pieces of shit that can stop working properly after as little as month. So all of the sudden my llight attacks wouldn't always work because RB got fucked. Feel so cheated. My previous non genuine x360 pad lasted for over three god damn years. And goddamn warranty process could take up to a whole other month because turns out they are sending them shits all the way to Poland.
I know you don't really give a shit, but fuck you, I needed to write this anyway.

Just now: 3v1? Yeah, no problem. Keep calm and murder that host.

Amazing how scrubs think a numerical advantage makes them immortal or something. Should've recorded it.

Biggest problem there is to draw the host away from the others and take him down in time.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Attached my ps3 controller that I never use to my pc, it worked ok.

But then I found out Scholar of the First Sin fixed the double click issue with the mouse.

Controllers and consoles are for girls and faggots. Master race uber alles. Heil Hitler. Gas the console peasants.

I just started playing this. Holy fucking SHIT it's addicting.

I want some tips, tho- specifically, how do I into 2-handers? I'm trying to make a Conan-style build. No magic, just power and dodging. But a fair number of enemies are hard to take down with just that. Specifically the heavy-hitters.

Learn to dodge?

That's really the only option you've left yourself :M

Yeah...you might wanna leave that for your second playtrough. Don't get me wrong, what you're suggesting is 100% viable, just very hard to pull off as a new player. Shields make the game easier. WAY easier. Every enemy in Dark Souls has several attack patterns and they are pretty varied, so it will take a while before you memorize everything. Block, learn, practice some dodging, git gud at dodging THEN you can think about ditching your shield. As for magic, it's not mandatory, a 0 magic build is 100% viable, both for PvE and PvP. But you NEED a ranged weapon. Not a #1 priority, but you should have one by the time you face the 2nd Great One. When you get to a certain...part of the game...you'll thank me for having a +10 bow/crossbow.

Good weapons for two handers include the Greatsword (the "default" choice), the Claymore (faster alternative), the Great/Large Club (strike damage is OP for PVE) and several others. Consult the wikias for ideas, there is no shortage of different builds you can do in this game :P

EDIT: a great newbie combo is the good old spear and shield. You can attack and block at the same time, which is great when you have 0 notion of the enemy attack pattern. Don't abuse it, tho, as it drains stamina pretty fast.
