Unbelievable. I managed to loot 2 lizard staffs within 10 minutes. They dropped consecutively from the 2 necromancers in the cave in Huntsman Copse. What are the chances of that happening?

By the way, is Lizard Staff the best S-scaling staff for sorcery and hexes, in terms of pure power and cast speed?

very low, i guess. i never got it in quite a lot of hours of playing (even farmed it for a looong time on my first mage character). hate it

nope. it's a good mid-game staff, but the Sunset (hexes) and Wisdom (magic) staves are better, and witchtree branch is faster (and slightly better iirc). it's a pity they didn't go with the beta description for the lizard staff ("can cast sorceries and pyromancies"), would've been much more fun

So I'm watching this retard do a DS1 playthrough

I literally cannot believe what I'm seeing here. I did much better job than this retard and while I quit the game like 2 times and came back to it, here's how my first playthrough looked:
  • No wikis or googling.
  • I did not remove it from inventory (back then) so I had no player messages or summons.
  • I chose the deprived as my starting class because I thought it'd be some cool special thing :negative:
  • My starting gift was the Master Key so I did a lot of shit out of order.
  • I cleared new londo ruins before Undead Burg. Being the deprived and a newb this was as good choice as any other.
  • I didn't even know there was such a mechanic as summoning because i was hollow most of the game and had no idea what hollowing was. I learned I could sometimes summon NPC help @ ornstein.
  • I learned I could jump by accident in Blighttown (which was probably 1/3 or 1/2 of my playthrough )
  • I'm somewhat autistic when it comes to gathering mats so I didn't upgrade anything because I didn't know what was the best to upgrade (due to lack of stat/mechanics understanding).
After that, playing through DS2 was mostly a breeze

And here's the guy playing DS2:

I remember my first DaS run. Stumbled down into Ash Lake before Lord Vessel. Never came back.

MapMan yeah, that's DSP (DarkSydePhil or something like that), a notorious retard. the jury's still out whether he's serious or doing it just for show/clicks (i'd bet on the latter, but only just, because he finishes the games, and i think no other moron who plays like that would persevere until the end, and then even go and play the sequel). once i tried watching the whole playthrough, but it was insufferably obnoxious. that "best of" you posted is infinitely more entertaining

It is totally possible to ascend the tree.

I would not recommend it though.

There's one point where shitty collision makes it impossible to walk up a branch normally and you need to literally walk on thin air in order to proceed. If I were playing the game on my lonesome and couldn't check youtube for a way to get through it, I think I would've ragequit the game right there and then.

U kids need to git gud ;^)

I've gone backwards from both Ash Lake and Tomb of the Giants. Going back to firelink from first tomb bonfire is much worse.

I have also done this, and I agree.

Iirc, there's two places with shitty collision where you need to stand back and jump across or you won't get over a ledge.

There's no reason he can't be both a retard and someone doing it for clicks.

I doubt he' acting. He's been doing this act for YEARS. It's more likely he's a fucking dumbass.

What's the consenus on the weighted rolls (i.e. you can't pull off crazy 180 attacks like in DaS 1 or Bloodborne)? I hated them in PVP bc they just led to ridiculous backstabs. Whereas in DaS2 fights are more about baiting your opponent, or playing off of his expectations (parries)

Isn't that just limited tracking? DaS2 has different unlocked tracking on every weapon while DaS1/BB have unlimited tracking in any direction. It's definitely better for PvP balance. DaS1 PvP fanboys h8 it.

Yeah, well worded. I was playing with the Murakomo and learned its R2 can be winded up and gives you enough time to aim it in any real direction. It's pretty ridiculous.

Stuff like greataxes or greathammers can be tons of fun with slow windups and mid animation manual aiming. Quickrolling twitch spazzers will never get hit by that shit though.
