I think I'll have to skip the Iron Passage. Tried about as many times as I could stand it, most of the times can't even make it to the boss. Fuck this area very much.
Try the side path, it's considerably easier.

I don't even know which side path you mean. The one that opens with a lever and only stays open for a few seconds? I tried get there many times, impossible to me.

Yes. With my char it only required a couple of well placed rolls and I was in. The second door is trickier, but afterwards you can just drop and run for the boss.

Either way, it's way easier than rolling through 4 floors with several priests and axe warriors behind.

I found that the best way to get chunks is Bell Keeper PvP, you get one every time you defeat an opponent. It's also a lot of fun, and a great way to train your skills against human opponents.

Talk about "late to the party", dude... :P

Bell keeper is gr8, you get rewards as either invader or defender, so join the covenant and stick around belfry luna/sol for tons of fun invasions. After SOTFS Bell Keeper has a small chance of giving twinkling and petrified dragon bones, so It's even better than it used to be.

I did not get summoned once when I tried Bell keeping. :(

 Seeing how I can't even get past the first one that motivates me a lot. Fuck it, taking a break from that area and going to last DLC for now. I'll see if I want to return there after or just go to NG+.

Low soul memory belfry luna is a guaranteed PvP fest. Belfry Sol is trickier, but also pretty common. But then again, it depends on where you live and if you use cross region play.

Start by walking diagonally towards the left side of the path, then run towards them. They'll be there waiting for you. Roll three times to the diagonal right to get past them and run/walk the rest of the way to the door. You can even try armorless, it's probably better.

On the other side of the door there's one of the blinking enemies IIRC, but you should be able to dispose him her regardless of your build.

Guys help me out.

I am liking this game very much so far. About to hit the Shrine of Winter, have Havel's set, have played most of the game with a Battle Axe. it is currently at +10.

My question is, is it worth infusing it? TBH I'm a little bored with this weapon. My STR is at 45, will infusing Fire/Lighting ruin the weapon?

Also, is it me or do all the Boss Soul weapons seem like total shit?

Men if you're bored just spice it up. Infusing is not worth it tho. If you have to choose go Lighting tho.

From what I've gathered so far, if you are going to go a STR build, like I have, infusions are worthless. Is that the general wisdom? It seems kind of dumb that infusions would be less powerful than dumping cheap-ass titanite into your weapon, but whatevs.

Only some weapons with pre-existing elemental damage will gain bonuses from stats like INT/FTH. If you have tons of STR then just find a different STR weapon and get it to +10.

Infusions are there for people that don't dump stats into STR/DEX. There's stuff like lightning damage getting a bonus on wet enemies etc etc etc. Infusing is not final. You can always infuse into whatever or use palestones to remove infusions.

^ what he said. Just to add to that, I noticed looking at wiki on DS2 after beating the game, most bosses are vuln to lightning or fire. A few aren't but it appears to be worth it to have a lightning or fire damage weapon in PvE, but you'd also have to know which boss is vulnerable to what, and be able to switch on the fly.

If you're bored with the weapon, basically the moveset is the culprit. Just try some other weapons and see how you like their moves. Greatswords and maces/clubs usually feel "right" for STR builds, but who cares, just find something that you like... and scales good with STR.

Indeed Infusions don't go well with DEX/STR builds. If you want to try another type of character you could always use a soul vessel, don't worry by the end game you'll have many of those.

What whisky are you on? I'm polishing off some Royal Lochnagar myself right now. Good whisky is crucial to one's well-being. As others have said, the moveset is what matters. I have always been fond of the basic light swords which provide a good and varied moveset (thrusting and slashing) at low Stamina cost - it's why the Balder Side Sword from DS1 was so beloved. In DS2 there isn't quite a weapon as powerful as all that, the closest equivalent is the Sun Sword which is not nearly as good and requires some effort to obtain and even more effort in terms of stat investment needed to get the most out of it.

In terms of whether to Infuse or not, it depends on your progress in the game. Infusion, particularly Lightning, is very strong throughout most of the base game. In most of the expansion, however, I find raw physical damage is the best way to go. If you wish to PvP, again I think physical is the best choice as most people will use Great Magic Barrier. However, a good and fast Fire weapon will come in handy in the Ivory King expansion.

I had the same problem so I just used whatever new weapon with the most damage I found no matter the moveset. I ended with Dragon tooth I think.

I found a simple club+10 to be the most effective weapon in PvE with STR builds. It's quick and it's got an A scaling with str. At 50 str you're doing very serious damage.

I prefer long reach weapons for the lunge attack.

Don't listen to these softcores, what you need is dual grand lances in power stance, with dual ultra greatswords in power stance as back-up no.1 and borken handmaid's ladle as back-up no.2.

1) I really like whiskey in general, but ryes are my favorite. Among those, Rittenhouse and Sazerac are the two best ryes out there, in my opinion. I also like bourbon that is less sweet, e.g. away from Makers Mark in terms of sweetness, that shit taste like candy to me and I can't take it.

2) I think you guys are right, the move set is what's boring to me. I fond the Dragonslayer's Crescent Axe a little while ago, it does lightning damage -- but I have no idea what stat that scales with.

Also, is it just me or does this game seem to have too many ultra greatswords?

Lightning scales with the Faith stat. If I remember rightly, that Dragonslayer axe can be fairly damaging when lightning infused and in the hands of a Faith build, but the weapon's range leaves something to be desired.

I have all of these boss souls, and the weapons seem completely underwhelming. Should I just cash them in? Will I regret it later?
