All players who have pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 are invited to participate in our upcoming stress test.
:troll: That'll be quite a stress test.

Yeah, that's something I rather agree with. If they want a real stress test, it should be an open or at least a "raffle" test and possibly for a longer period, a 4-hour prepurchaser opportunity window won't overload anything, unless they're somehow faking each connection to mean twenty for the server.

Or limiting the amount of available servers or whatevermagics to fit the pre-orderers proportionally to what they would in full capacity.

GW2 lead artist leaving ANet:

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/news/618-kekai-kotaki-is-leaving-arenanet/

inbe4 speculations, I'd say it means this:

In English: GW2 dev cycle is over, and it's going to the publisher soon.

Big question is why the man's not staying with ANet, but I'm guessing that with his credentials and his connections (see artwork for M:tG and Warhammer) he's probably going to make his own studio and work as an artist for hire rather than stay with one company.

ANet rep said:
Kekai wants to take the next step in his professional career and work on different projects, broadening his skill set and exploring new opportunities, and we at ArenaNet wish him all the best in pursuing this goal. Kekai is leaving us as a friend, and we will always have an open door for him.

Anyway, a bummer for future GW2 things. The concept art for both games was always fantastic.

I've a pre-purchase account for sale in case anyone's interested, since I doubt I'll have the time to play this; gonna be a busy year. Barely used, like new - yours for only a few potato!

I was right. And fuck, beaten by a half an hour.

Also, final beta event July 20-22!

Too bad I'll be out of internets then :(

And still no news for the free beta?
given that the game is one of the most anticipated new mmos, i'd be very surprised if they had open events like they did for gw1. at best there will be trial codes.

It better have, since Diablo 3, a somewhat anticipated game, had free beta weekend in addition to trial codes.
We'll see who's bigger jews, ANet or Blizzard!!

I understand ANet team is pretty international, so they might be using different formats. Outlook etc format them all to system defaults anyway so it's like zero fucks given, these days.
