Hello codexians,

lately I recalled some of my really funny screenshots. Some of them might be funny for other gamers too, but I don't like the idea of spamming all those longplays and discussions, which might have been completed/ closed years ago. I also dislike the idea of dissolving those shots into the more general screenshot thread (Screenshot thread) Wouldn't it be a nice idea to collect all the most rediculous screenshots (or other visual media) in one thread?

What I think about is:
  1. Celebrities included in games
  2. situations nobody could have foreseen (even the devs of the game)
  3. errors (physical, graphical, leveldesign...), which produce groovy situations
  4. TV, movie or game quotes
Those things should be clearly visible in the screenshot (or whatever) and should be understandable even though the viewer has not played the game. Usually games are full of easter eggs. Posting them could be O.K. as long as
  • they are funny,
  • most people could understand them (even if never played any computergame),
  • they are distinct enough
  • they are significant
So Bill Gates appearing as a bossmonster might be a good choice, as long the monster REALLY looks like Billy, whereas some RPG character simply named Donald Duck (or even Trump) can be seen as a footnote. Appearances of devs or characters from other games should be judged restrictively. 20 "visitors" bunched in a single room might bear the chance to be recognized by many other poeple.

The appearance of celebrities should also be unquestioned and surprising. Noone is really interested in game characters that look like the postman of our street, so even B- Movie Stars are highly questionable, David Hasselhoff would be fine. Maybe someone spots Ron Jeremy. Noone will be taken by surprize by Hitler paintings in a Wolfenstein Game or Arnie appearing in a Termiator or Conan videogame. But Arnie and Sly together as doormen in GTA might be nice. It should be obviously clear, that those celebrities are meant. Vague similarities are not enough. Did the devs INTENDED to include that celebrity or is it just coincidental? Playing Stalker: Call of Pripjet one character could be mistaken for Scott Caan, another one looks a bit like Putin someone even stated to have spotted Bud Spencer . The slideshow at the end of the game reveals the intended appearance of those chars, so the similarities are coincidental. The similarity between the char Strelok and the late actor Aleksander Kaidanovski can be accepted as intentional, but (unfortunately!) Kaidanovski has not become very famous.

Some more Nazi-Rules:

  • The screenshots should be included into spoiler tags, to emphasis the point.
  • A brief description or introduction, likewise in or outside the spoiler tags, should be given.
  • If you allready posted that screenshot elsewhere you might just link it here (in that case the spoiler tags are not nescessary).
  • If there exists a codexian longplay or discussion, it would be nice to provide a link.
  • It could be even more nice to post a backlink in the corresponding longplay or game discussion, if that thread is still alive.
  • Screenshot (images) are most appreciated, of course animations or youtube vids are also welcome (as a rule of thump: anyone should get the bit in 10 sec.)
  • Mods are allowed.
  • Be creative, that's an order!

First thing that popped into my mind was the notorious '' Corrupted Blood Incident '' in WoW when a debuff from a raid boss Hakkar spilled outside the instance spreading across highly populated areas like cities, killing players and NPCs. For days these places were barren, players were forced to give them a wide berth and go hiding somewhere. Apparently the incident also caught the interest of actual scientists who studied the players behavior to see how people act during epidemics.

2. In the Ruined City our Hero Achmet has to fight many wilds dogs, suddely they stopped attacking. Why?

Other shots from STALKER - Clear Sky (partially with OGSM Mod)

(STALKER: Clear Sky)

We know, that physic totally screws up in the zone...

In the area of Yantar, we found the proof, that the church was right!

Earth is a disk, and we can fall from the edge of it! This happens, when the devs forgot some fences...

What do you think, is there to much violence in videogames?

He always had a very penetrating personalty.
