I wonder if it was a conscious decision to put the demo on steam during the warhammer festival to lure some stray folks looking for Dawn of War :M

Anyway, I checked the demo and it's actually entertaining barring a few quirks. I'll prob get it eventually when it goes on sale.

I think it's more the case it's for the upcoming steam next festival, half those games already have demos available as part of a press event

I remember my best friend being obsessed with the first game back in the day, i know there's been remakes. Should i play the remake or the original?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

Originals all the way.
The biggest change is the moving camera in the remake of Abe's Oddysee. In the original, each screen was more of a self-contained puzzle instead of continuous levels. This "dynamic camera" design causes a few problems with some traps that can now see you in spots they couldn't before and the moving camera can obscure some clues to secret areas because obstacles in the foreground will be covering them.

Some people prefer the moving camera because you get fewer loading screens, but I prefer the fixed camera from the original.

For me the biggest problem with the remakes is the atrocious art design. The original games had a very cohesive art style and a specific atmosphere that were completely ruined in the most recent iterations.

It's all about how they turned a moody, dark, kinda depressing world into something less than that. I could not play the remakes more than a couple hours. They just do not compare. Keep in mind I have issues playing the originals now too. Kinda a one and done style game tbh. Or I am tired of puzzle games.

Merida, again
Nice. The feature set is great so I may give it another go.
