But where is the "dungeon crawling"? All screenshots show just character screens and top-down combat field.

90% off til Feb 1st.
I already bought it and played for about 20 minutes. Not bad, for 0,99€ it's worth. Kinda lacking in gameplay depth though, doesn't have much longevity. All there is to it is running, jumping, dodge rolling, crouching, the objective and your 5 weapons, a M16, a sniper, a shotgun, a rocket launcher and a flamethrower. People only really use the first 4, last one is barely used as the Shotgun does the job better and has more range, although the flamethrower is easier to use. Feels like the game could use some more depth and features. More unique movement, abilities, more weapons, classes, vehicles, anything to keep it a bit more fresh. There is a pretty wide selection of cool maps, though. Props to the designers for that.

S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster, remaster of 2001 real-time tactics, remastered by the successor of the original developer:

Experience again the nifty war strategy game that defined the childhood of many players in the golden age of gaming. The game was originally developed by Hungarian StormRegion and published by Fishtank Interactive in 2001. Nearly 18 years later, Kite Games, in cooperation with the original developers and some enthusiastic fans, redesigned the game in high resolution and reignited the original S.W.I.N.E. warfare feeling. In this unique, real-time strategy game, the player chooses to lead to victory either the brutal pigs or the peace-loving rabbits.

About S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster
The original game was remastered with so much care, love and attention that only the original developers and a few hardcore fans could give. For this unique edition, you will also receive the following additional extra contents:
  • Soundtrack - The original soundtrack of S.W.I.N.E.
  • Art Book - An exclusive art book with previously unreleased designs and concept drawings
  • Making of S.W.I.N.E. - A developer documentary, where you can follow the origins of the game and the process of how Kite Games recreated this classic game.

About S.W.I.N.E.
This funny strategy war game, which was first released in 2001, allows you to fight leading the aggressive pigs or the peace-loving rabbits to victory in several battles. As most strategy games, S.W.I.N.E. focuses on the strategic aspect of the battles. You don’t have to construct buildings or collect resources. Instead, the player needs to capitalize on the strategy points and use them to expand and develop their army.

18 years later, we can relive the iconic slogans and the legendary fights. The remastered version of the game brings a new appearance and new content as well. Camera movements were modified (extended zoom range) and a more detailed battlefield was developed. Units also received a better texture and the vehicles’ undercarriages also move.

The official online multi-player mode will become available again, and you can also enjoy the LAN parties soon.

BREAKING NEWS!
A military coup was carried out in the Republic of the Pigs! Does this mean the end of the republic? On July 26, General Iron Tusk took over the country with a military coup and after eradicating the remaining republican pig forces, he turned his attention to the neighboring Carrotland...

WAR!
On August 3, the National Pig Army crossed the border with Carrotland without any prior warning and launched a brutal and devastating military campaign against the rabbits. In less than two weeks, the pigs burned the whole country to the ground. The capital is under siege at the moment. The rabbit army has lost 90% of the soldiers under the great pressure. Cities and villages were demolished. The unrelenting defense of the small army wasn’t enough to deter the pig hoards.

JOIN!
The government and the staff made the following decision in their despair: as Iron Tusk’s war machine cannot be defeated with a frontal attack, they need to resort to deception. The remaining forces need to be transformed into a powerful team that is able to get behind enemy lines without great losses and cut off the army from all possible supply routes and military buildings. Now they need to find a young and talented commander who can implement this plan.

Features
  • Remastered graphics in HD resolution – Redesigned interface adjusted to 16:9 aspect ratio, and a detailed unit texture. All the expected graphics settings: anti-aliasing, v-sync, screen selection, full-screen mode,
  • Improved game experience – known bugs fixed, extended zoom, improved unit ordering, moving unit undercarriages.
  • Multiplayer is back! – Travel back to old times with your friends and play this unique landmark of a game either online or on LAN – The official multi-player mode is back: stability updates, online multi-player mode and LAN support.

Pretty sure they released this game for free when nobody was buying it. Now they're trying to re-sell it with "HD textures" herp derp. Still looks like a Torque game or early Unity.

Sadly most of the good sim-related jokes are themselves pushing 30 years now.

(Sorry about the small size, but I wasn't joking about the age.)

The story of this game is SO good, that nowhere in page they even bother writing a summary or premise, at all.

Seriously, the "story" focused game doesn't mention what the story is about on the store page. At least they have lore books..

Hundreds of lore books and scattered pieces of information slowly reveal the history of Artara as your party of adventurers approach their fate.

:hmmm:

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Codex+ Now Streaming! Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit. Pathfinder: Wrath
I have about ten 'updates' for games in my library. Is something happening in February? A new law or something?

Just checked and I have 5 waiting. Weird

Edit: I hit the button for them to just do the update now, and they were all tiny. Like around 3-8MB. I'm guessing something to do with TOS rather than the games themselves

Jesus fucking Christ why so many installed at once? That would give me some serious autism

I actually had like 5 games installed but decided to install all games I haven't played this month (this is not every game though..). So going through them slowly. It's my new year goal. Steam backlog.

Wait, what the fuck is happening?

If you guys are amazed at ortucis, let me tell you, my Steam installations beggar the imagination and defy any attempt at screenshots. I have 108 installed, and 48 awaiting updates.

Most of these updates are just shared redistributable updates and not real game updates. The end result should be that you need to download less content going forward. You should see only a few real downloads of any size and the remainder should be size 0 updates. This is not communicated well in the client and will be looked at.

124 installed. 71 updates. all 0 bytes

I had one 700 MB update. After that, one 20 MB update (they aren't game updates) and rest were all 0 bytes. What a shitty way of updating. Why not just have a separate Steam package that's on the game list for all users by default? Meh!
