picked some nice games for the next year
though vanir is very the expensive

the star wars game i have never heard of, but it looks better than the other star wars RTS that is much more popular (empire at war?) - people say this is a AoE2 clone, then give negative rating, as if being AoE2 clone is some how a bad thing? well we will see

"Age of Empires II but Star Wars" is exactly what it Galactic Battlegrounds is with no pretentions otherwise. The game's mostly the same with a few details here and there, like the inclusion of aircraft (while only a few anti-air units can deal with them, any half-decent anti-air defense will stomp out any aerial attackers), a much bigger focus on ranged combat and Monks being replaced by Jedi and Sith that are their own unit type that can actually fight back. Six campaigns in the base game and two for the expansion, giving everyone but the Naboo their own campaign. Eight factions total, each with a different focus to create several different playstyles focused on troops, mechs, siege units, aircraft, jedi or a combination thereof. Don't sleep on the walking Gungan shield generators: they can just about double the health of your ground units. There's also some weird gimmicks (the stone equivalent resource now has its own gathering building, and there's a seperate building that you can garrison not-sheep inside of to generate food over time instead like you get gold by putting relics inside of monasteries), and some of the campaign mapse have easter eggs to the point where if you manage to find one particular one you get an entirely different map objective. Note that the game focusses on episodes IV-VI and I, with II added in the expansion.

The biggest issue is that the game is not optimized at all, so don't go in expecting the AoEII Definitive Edition quality. You will have to install some mods to have the game run in an acceptable resolution and not crash all the time.

Pretty much this. Caim is not exaggerating: it IS AOE2 with a Star Wars skin, to the point that it's better seen as a conversion mod. They even have the intros and outros for each stage like in AOE2. And of course, it comes complete with an editor you can use yo make your own scenarios.

The music is made out of John Williams' score. Duel of Fates tends to repeat a lot. The expansion includes episode 2 content.
