Spent some more time sifting through the catalog to find some 'gems' but just confirming my earlier impressions that Steam is following a trend of inferior discounts covered up by more crappy gimmicks (merit badges, flash sales, voting sales, etc.) Discounts are down across the board (40% off base discount for Torchlight 1? lol?). Shaping up to be a pretty mediocre event. Hell, just compare it to the Summer Sale that was the genesis of this thread two years ago. Guess I'll grab Portal 2 although it's nothing I greatly anticipated.

I feel unclean. I made junk Google and Facebook accounts and uploaded a video all for the precious precious badge.
Think I probably will break down and buy Rayman today, too. Not a whole lot I was looking for during the sale and that was one of 'em, and I doubt it'll go under that given it's a "Flash sale" game.

Here bros, enjoy my shame.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Valve are doing something kind of sneaky here on Steam's front page. They say a "franchise" is on sale, but when you click it, you're linked to one particular game in the franchise. You don't see that the others are on sale. For example, the other M&M games.

Hm, I'm a bit interested in HoMM V, as it's cheap and supposed to be one of the better parts in the series.
Never played one, though.

Should I get vanilla or the stand-alone expansion Tribes of the East?

Exactly. I'm calling broken. Also why 36 hours?

Actually, this isn't the first time there's a weird time duration on the first day of a big sale. It'll switch to 24h tomorrow.

They've gone with longer than 24 hour daily deals in the past because ultimately idiots who would wait until the last minute would complain if there was an error on their transaction or they couldn't get the deal in itme.

Get all three if you're interested in the campaign, since they all follow on each other.

What really pisses me off about this sale is the empty packs. The packs used to contain all the games from a studio. What is this shit? Decline of GabeN.

At least there are no game-related achievements so I don't have to go downloading a dozen games I've since uninstalled. Pretty sure the Community badge thing won't have a time limit on it. That, and we have no idea what the benefits to getting one is, anyway.

And CKII collection is 75% off, finally. Just waiting to see if the new stuff is added to it, doubt it though.
It is. All the DLC including Sword of Islam is 75% off too. STOP WAITING BUY IMMEDIATELY!

HoMMV is well worth it. Get all expansions. Tribes of the East has some of the best mechanics of any HoMM game ever.

So Saints Row 3 it is. Hm, not sure if I'll get that after all, TW2 would have been more interesting.

Bought Eschalon Book 2 and HoMMV.

Alert alert, Warlock flash sale! Ends up $7, so I don't feel too bad about picking up the Amazon deal a while back since it was $7.50 and I gave away the Majesty games and CK2 DLC.

Not biting on that. $5 or bust. It's Steamworks and Paradox shit goes on sale all the time. The Majesty Collection is laughably overpriced at $42.

Saints Row 3 at -75% for the next 8 hrs after the poll thingie. Tempted, but not sure I'd actually spend much time playing it.

Guess I've reached Steam Saturation... There just isn't anything in this sale that really tickles my fancy and no weird achievement-hunting events like the last 2 sales. :(

I'd kinda like SPEHSS MEHREEN + DLC if the pack is dirt cheap, but it doesn't seem to be on the store.

[edit]

NM, seems they just shuffled the bundles around and it appeared. 30 eurobucks is still a bit steep :/
I guess I'll put my faith inthe EMPRAH and see if it gets a daily deal thingie.

Going to be cheaper on Amazon next week. There's that whole U.S. billing address only thing but I think there are ways around that people here have found.

Yeah. Basically all amazon does is compare city+state+postal code on the address you typed. Use google maps and pick a random US address as delivery address for digital purchases. I used Gamble Memorial Church of God in Miami, FL for the paradox pack I had spare keys from a few days ago.
