There's also nice touches like playing musical instruments for ally benefits, when playing one of the more standard modes.

Then you get the hardcore guys setting up regiments with fellow players.

Not sure where to put this: I just got a promotional email regarding $6 off War of the Roses from amazon, because I allegedly bought Mount & Blade from them, which I never did. I looked the "qualifying purchase" up, and the number matches some Paradox bundle purchase. I nearly deleted the message, because I first thought it was some phishing attempt. Still too much money for that game, I guess.

Been playing Laura Croft and the Guardian of Light that I got for like $2 as a result of one of the Amazon packs. Aside from the slight awkwardness of using M+K for a controller designed game it's pretty solid. Visually it looks great and has a good balance of physics platforming/puzzles and combat. There's also some built in challenges and item unlocks you can shoot for, too.

Now if only they'd finally start selling the BG/IWD/PST copies they've had on the Steam registry forever. God damn it Gaben sell me an Infinity Engine (almost) complete pack for $5.

Edit: Actually I think ToEE might've been on there too. Like they were planning on selling that D&D bundle that's on other distributors like Gamersgate but... Never did.

I believe that had something to do with licensing when Atari's ability to sell them expired (also why NWN2 is no longer sold there).

Oh, shit. You're probably right. Well that's a bummer.

On the bright side, Amalur's still up for $60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't decide if I should go on a KotOR II binge now or wait until a sale. Also, anyone know if this one is compatible with mods or not?

Good game (much better than Depths of Peril). Worth the price. I'd consider it if I didn't already have a dozen other games to play.

Biggest problem with Soldak games for me is how goddamn narrow the dungeons are, how everything blends together to a muddled mess graphically, and the fucking horrendous sounds. Even thinking about hearing "SHREEEEEEEEEEEEEEERERZEREEZEZEEZZZZZZZZZZZ!" is putting my teeth on edge.

Kind of a shame since Depths and Dins seem like they've got some cool ideas. Just can't bring myself to play much more than a few hours total. Not sure if Drox Operative will be any better or not since it's set in space, he'll probably buy a sound library with the most annoying laser sound he can find.

Amazon is running a promo until September 27th where you get a free copy of Borderlands 2 is you buy an Nvidia 600 series GPU. Not a huge bargain or anything but just thought I'd throw it out there to anyone considering a hardware upgrade. I actually have $50 in credit and thought about grabbing Boderlands 2 but if I can get a GPU that will last me the next 3-4 years and the game for around $250 I might bite.

Funny, it says just Amazon... well... I guess the Amazon site would say that. Well, my credit is on Amazon, anyway so unless New Egg is selling 600 series cards for $250~

Finished Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Only about 7-8 hours but there's some replay value in it if you want to shoot for some of the score/time/hidden item objectives. One of the DLC came with the Amazon version I got in the Squeenix pack and it's pretty 'meh' -- basically just an arena map where you fight off waves of endless bad guys. For the $3.75 or so Steam tends to sell it at during sales it's a pretty good pickup if you're into isometric shooters with puzzles.
