It got a ton of free extra publicity all over the internet as millions of people went. "Hey guys, I have a PORTAL 2 coupon. Anyone want for free?" Gotta work dat branding.

You know, I don't even think I want Field Runners for free. I'm going to be pissed, though, if the bonus game(s) are any good.

Can't remember if I already talked about this in here or not, but MAN. DARKNESS 2 SURE IS FUCKING TERRIBLE. Really surprised how much I dislike the game. I've got 4 hours played and I'm struggling to bite the bullet and finish it since it's so damn short, but hell. Worst $12 I spent during the Steam sale by far. I'm normally pretty ok with dumb shooters but Darkness 2 isn't doing it for me at all. The guns aren't that fun, the super powers aren't that fun, the enemies are samey (And again not fun imagine that), level design is your normal linear corridor and doesn't even have nice setpieces to tart it up. In fact in the last map I was in, it was playing a raining sound and rain drops only fell on the linear corridor I could walk through. The chest-high walls on either side of the road blocked me AND rainclouds apparently since not a single drop fell out there.
Game's got almost nothing going for it. I probably should've known to avoid it since that silly shithead Tom Chick liked it so much, but god damn.

Part 2 of bitching about videogames, Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC. It's not exactly bad and plays like more Skyrim (Which I'm alright with since I like Skyrim) but charging $20 is a complete ripoff. Doesn't seem to have any more content compared to Fallout 3/New Vegas DLC, maybe more voice acting since your goddamn waifupire has something to say about everything but apart from that a whole lot of fuck-all. Also includes your usual Bethesda retarded shit like joining a group of vampire hunters, being sent to investigate vampires in a cave, finding a vampire with an elder scroll, then immediately helping the vampire and not killing the bloodsucking fiend. Why do you help the vampire? I dunno, I guess she asked nicely? I even tried leading her to Fort Hatesvampires and she says "YEAH NAW I'LL WAIT OUTSIDE OK?". Not only that, she even as much as SAYS she's a goddamn vampire when you find her, if the vampire clothing and glowing eyes weren't enough to give it away. BETHESDA!

And for some not bitching about videogames, played some Payday with a bro. We shot many mans and stole diamonds. A good time was had by all, even though I fucked up and caused two of my companions to end up dead right at the end when we were running to the chopper. Since they're dead I just assume they had a good time.

And for some new Steam community shit, possibly the best thing to come out of the dumb community screenshots thing is seeing the pictures that float to the top and end up on the front page for those games.

Told you Darkness 2 was shit. Doubt I'll even buy it at $5. Isn't it THQ? If so maybe I'll eventually get it in some Amazon bundle. And yeah, Dawnguard being a rip off doesn't shock me. Most Bethesderp DLC isn't worth $1 let alone $10 or $20.

Darkness 2 is actually ok when compared to the standards of the time. It's certainly a bit more imaginative in style and substance than COD and MOH. I like the art style in particular being a fan of the admittedly far superior other PC game to have used a similar style which makes it still look great: XIII.

Now THAT is a game I'd love to see a proper continuation for, though through KS or something as I wouldn't want it to start using health regen and cover mechanics.

Finished Death to Spies: Moment of Truth and somewhat disappointed. The mission design and AI is improved over the first but there are only about seven missions (less than the first game). Last one in particular was fairly underwhelming.

Oh, M&B series is 75% off next couple of days. And now to ponder Fire & Sword at $2.50 for the seventh or eighth time.

Isn't that multi-player only? Don't really play multiplayer M&B because I suck so badly at it. Also Din's Curse popped up in the Steam registry. Looks like they finally convinced Valve to put it up. No idea what the delay was since it is no different than Depths of Peril that is already on Steam.

There's a commander mode where you command a single squad of troops (bots). There is a variety of troops to choose from for each nation. It's most certainly not a run and kill mode like other M&B multiplayer modes.

It gets pretty intense when you have the high ground, have your line infantry hold their fire until the last moment as some guys charge you and almost killing them all. Very very fun. Even more fun when you cut out respawning of commanders, meaning that if you're killed your troops automatically charge.
