Is there something in pirates and renaissance that isn't in the plain on other than the maps? I guess I am just wondering which to play first.

Well it's mostly map differences and some bug fixes and some minor additions to potential careers and things you can do. Renaissance being of course the last and most polished, so if you just want to play a sandbox with all possibilities without worrying about map types then start there. Personally though it can get a bit overwhelming with choice so I started with the Pirates campaign first as it focuses you to play as a particular character with a particular goal. It's not an epic for the ages but it's good in getting you to learn particular aspects of the game in some order without being swamped by choice.

I'm coming for you MHC, I'm coming.
I'LL CUT YOU MAN. I'LL DO IT.

You and your 2004 registration. I HAD STANDARDS! Also hated Steam and resisted a while. Resisted buying anything on Steam until 2007, only reason I registered at that point was because I finally broke down and bought HL2 for cheap from an online retailer. Then I eventually noticed Steam wasn't too shitty and they started running deals and SHIT WENT DOWN.

My first Steam purchase was very monocle!

Peggle Deluxe

I think I only signed up in 2004 because I got some Valve bundle with an ATI card. I just checked and my first purchase wasn't until 2010. I can see now that really set the tone for future purchases, ha.

I briefly considered getting the pack until I realized there's not really anything from it I want. Maybe men of war, but meh...
I think the moment a pack contains 3 keys I'd end up giving away for every key I would use myself is the point where I should just go buy myself a couple of cold beers instead.

I notice there's kings bounty: the legend (8 in don pestes list), crossworlds (11), armored princess (25) for a full set of kings bounty
Then there's Kings Bounty GotY with armored princess and crossworlds (29)
And platinum edition (legend, princess, crossworlds) (32)

That's 3 copies of the same game series. A pretty decent one though. Surplus keys to gift away are always nice I guess.

Yes, same happens with Men of War. I would say some will be drm-free and the others steam keys (so no extra keys). But not even the Amazon rep from CAG knows.

He might have just copy/pasted the whole catalog -- I would be surprised if you actually got multiple iterations of the same game.

I actually didn't end up buying it~ Too bad this GG version isn't Steam!. Still for $1.50 you get all of the Guild 2 and the Guild 1/Europa 1400.

Supcom Gold can be activated on Steam though. And the Guild 1 is far superior if you're not Skyway.

Got a full map in on Mann vs Machine. Meh. I'm gonna delete TF2 again. If I want co-op bot shooting with bros I'd rather play Payday (Or Killing Floor if it worked) or possibly L4D2. The character customization/upgrading wasn't that interesting, and neither were the enemy waves. That's enough hatting for me.

Fucking finally those console-centric cock suckers at Behemoth have seen the light: http://kotaku.com/5935223/castle-crashers-is-coming-to-the-pc

Been wanting Castle Crashers on the PC for like two years now. Might even preorder if it's reasonably priced with a discount + bundle.

Yeah I thought it was okay fun but nothing I see myself doing more than a couple of hours at most.

Yeah as MHC says, Guild 1 is 'better' in many ways though both are fine and quite unique series. For $1.50 even if you only have a passing interest it's a steal, even if not Steam compatible..Fuck, you can always add it anyway as one of your non-Steam games if you're really set on not using anything other than Steam to launch stuff.

A bonus with GG is that I can review and rate the games individually and get another 1000 odd blue coins for it. Almost all what I 'paid' with in the first place. I love those Swedish bastards....

I'm about 5 shy of 800 and I think I'll get that 1C pack if it's mostly steam keys. I'm coming for you MHC, I'm coming. Guess that means I'll have a bunch of GG keys to give away since I already bought the pack when it was on sale at GG.
I'll be the first to leech those keys off you bro...I swapped Cryway Theatre of War 3 for the Command and Conquer 3 collection so I'll need that back...;)

EDIT: Heh, the GG offer has disappeared, replaced with a more normal price for Guild...someone fucked up...

Understandable -- probably the only console exclusive game I've been wanting on the PC.

I got the same Portal 2 coupon, same offer, PM me and take it off my hands. (though I question the point of this promotion, Portal 2 was -75% during the summer sale a few weeks ago and who would want it now who didn't buy it then?)

Why do Valve even continue with those stupid coupons? They sucked in last year's summer sale and there's no reason they can't just put Portal 2 on sale for everyone.

There's probably the psychological feeling of being special, or trading, makes people buy when they wouldn't normally.

Aha!

http://www.thinkwithportals.com/blog.php?id=8663&p=1

The codes are for people already with portal 2, to give away, because the level designer lets you make and play co-op maps now.

Always a reason.
