The daily deals are gone because of the refund policy. It would be easy to ask for a refund for a game you bought with a 50% discount if you see it the next day with a 90% discount.
However, 90% discounts and similar stuff should only be seen on cheap shovelware from now on.

Yesterday they introduced some changes in the store and accepted my local currency. Most of the publishers took the cheaper value for one dollar, but AAA companies, like Squeenix, Bethesda or Activision, took the most expensive one (not that it would be any other way with them). But the really shitty thing is that they removed paypal as a payment option, fuck that.

These are the usual discounts that have been applied to Steam's FOs many times in the past. It doesn't seem that Bethesda would like to offer even bigger discounts for the Fallout games.

And their refund policy explicitly stated that refunding for this reasons is legitimate.

Still the change kind of takes away the need to visit the store front 3 times a day when they had the 8h flash sales. I wonder if they will up the gamification to make the people check the site regularly.

i think most stuff gets bought at 75%-90% during the steam sales. (beside the new AAA garbage, but that doesnt get high discounts anyways, you greedy fuckers)

and never ever gets played, but helps to build ones "collection".
that beeing said, i am sure people wont buy every thing and its mom for like 50%, so at the end they might put an arrow to their knee if they dont give me the chance to buy random games at 90% anymore.
i mean i am a dumb buyer, but at least IT WAS 90%. wont bite at 50%, you shitheads

Over the last few years the feature discounts have been getting smaller and smaller. Removing feature sales altogether will probably mean mediocre discounts. But, yeah, it's good to get the disappointment out of the way so you don't have to keep checking.

Is there even a reason to buy anything in the autumn sales when the winter sale is barely a month later ?

There are actually a couple of games (or expansions in case of TW3) I'm hoping to get, but they really need to have good reductions.

FO4 is even more expensive in Chilean Pesos than it is in American Dollars, actually.
That's what I was saying, Bethesda picked the most expensive value for 1USD, which was around 750 or 760 CLP, while most AA or indie publishers/devs went with a much smaller value, around 500CLP, even. But the biggest butthurt has been caused by the removal of paypal, which was used by most of the chilean people who owned paid games on Steam.

The percentage discounts have rarely differed. Might not be the case with the new flat discount system but, meh. If I see something at a price that's good I'll just grab it versus waiting a month to see if it goes 5% cheaper.

No, but it seems that the games that are discounted are much more tn the winter sale. So you might get better bundles?
