Zoom in to dogs... wow.

Guard dogs.

In the corner of a balcony at the top of a random building.

Indeed. Even more retarded is how Garett keeps his hands up in the air when creeping around. That looks extremely annoying.

If you watch the other video, the alternate way in, the guy says how a captain is super skilled and can destroy Garett in one on one combat. Then he just walks up to him and kills him in one blow and QTE. Then stammers as he tries to justify that.

It's probably a good representation of how the new Mirror's Edge game they're working on now is going to be, though :(

Why's that? I haven't been following ME2 news, pretty odd because I'm a huge fan of the original.

Well, you can see the USA USA flag now, BF5 or BF6 cover art should logically consist only of US flag, explosions and guns.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
By BF10 he'll be close enough for us to count his nosehairs, and STILL they'll find a way to cram an explosion in there somehow.

You're right, seems like they're gonna turn Faith into Lara Croft or something. This makes me sad.
That + asscreed style "contextual" parkour is what I'm expecting. Just hold down forward and the "freerun" button and steer vaguely in the direction of the items highlighted red, and the game will handle the rest.

No shadows, blue fog, action moves, experience points, you have to unlock stealth, "focus" an ability that highlights everything you'd need to see, contextual jumping, and no rope arrows.

What do you mean no shadows? In the video posted by Jack, it looks like hiding in shadows works just fine as opposed to Dishonored. What about blue fog? Are you referring to the way the player's vision adjusts to darkness? How exactly do you unlock stealth? I'm not meaning to argue, just curious.

FWIW it looks like there will be rope arrows however.

They're really only rope arrows in name. Due to the way rope arrows are implemented in Thiaf, they don't amount to anything other than static ladders. The only difference is that you have to shoot a predetermined point to activate it.

Hell, even Deadly Shadows' CLIMBING GLOVES provide more in the way of player freedom than Thiaf's supposed "rope arrows". Press Mouse 1 for verticality.

Only the shadows are as clear as in dishonored.

Oh, and some people said up there that the game has XP points, but they took it out in the last months of development, as a lot of features - like qte - that lot's of people complained about, only to appear as a developer that hears their fans, but sibnce they did it to late, looks like the game will be broken, since they're aiming for something and build the game around an xp system.

And now you have the upgrade system, which you probably would use XP points... now, maybe money or some trinket will be the substitute.

About upgrading stealth, it's the obvious upgrade that was present in DE:HE and in dishonored: Being COMPLETELY silent even when you run, jump in tiled floors, and use a rocket launcher.

So how's this turd going on?

EDIT: I think graphics and "visual ambiance" isn't too bad from what I see, but fuck me if this isn't a completely disposable waste of time and jewgold of everybody involved.

EDIT 2: Why is this thread 175 pages long? Are you masochists or something?

Even though upgrades will be bought with coin -- it at least makes more fucking sense than the xp system. There is at least now an incentive to steal shit to further your character, instead of killing being the main mode of power progression. The developers were at least smart enough to cave to that logical request. It doesn't change the fact you don't need upgrades to make a good game and that all developers seem they need to be shoe-horned in somehow, but eh...

THIS, in some Thief levels I felt the floor was my worst enemy, you felt the place you were invading was a deadly trap and even the floor wanted to fuck with you so you REALLY needed to be careful with every single step, the whole game was a navigation puzzle. In Thi4f they needed to "modernize" , the Baron adopted liberal views by exclusively hiring deaf people to give them jobs and those whiny faggots saying that he was an evil capitalist when he was the good guy all this time. The liberal peasants should love him for his fight for equality of opportunities.

Let's make an exercise:
Game where the shadows can make you invisible + guards that can only rely on eyesight (if they can only hear you when you are running but crouching is just slightly slower than running, they are blind) + guards that patrol alone, slowly and expose their backs to you all the time = broken game.
