Now that the Witcher Saga has come to an end, CDProjekt RED must have laid off everyone they didn't need for Cyberpunk and thus those triple A veterans decided to found a new studio (Fool's Theory).

You'll be excited to hear that they just announced their upcoming cRPG Seven. I assume it's still in the planning stages, but anyway, here are the details:

Seven is a Thief-inspired, 3D isometric RPG, in which you take on a role of a lone traveller.

You’re going to explore a nonlinear, sandbox world - Empire of Vetrall.

Of course, they wouldn't be true ex-CDProjekt devs if they wouldn't redefine something.

Classic isometric gameplay is going to be redefined with parkour climbing system that gives you the ability of free-traversing obstacles on any height horizontally and vertically.

Quest line set in a „beyond post-apocalyptic” environment is created by minds behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You can expect branching choices with moral consequences.

Isometric parkour sounds so weird... I would understand if they were going for multiple characters like Commandos, but with just one bro?

I'm imagining something in action adventure/platform fashion, like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (which by the way was very good).
And if properly done it wouldn't be half bad, in terms of control. Now, if this is also going to be tied to anything remotely resembling a competent RPG is hard to say, but I'm at very least interested in the premise.

Still having a hard time spotting the "heavy Thief influence", though.

I didn't know you could that kind of awesome stuff in Ultima. The only Ultima I played was Ultima Online.

Also inventory management in Ultima VII and VIII sucks donkey balls (not unimportant for magic). Annoyingly fiddly way to create immersion, and a nightmare for someone like me who has a cleaning up OCD.

I remember when I played through all of ultima 8 unpatched... save and load times were about 3 minutes long, and in unpatched version you didn't have the jumping help system in which the avatar would jump to the mouse pointer. It was mostly trial and error. A save at each successful jumping. But my memories of that game is that I actually loved it.

And I to be honest, u7-8 inventory management never annoyed me like in games that you have limited space and have to constantly micromanage. I actually liked that inventory system.
