This is how badly optimized TF2 has become.

Not since Leonardo Dicaprio painted that famous chapel in France has paint been put to such good use. Previously, painted hats were not visible in DX8. Now—wait for it—they are. Plus, improved shading within painted objects will now fit within the world lighting better.

So did they fix everything?

I glanced over at the Steam forums.

Nope.(avi) They broke everything with this one. Game won't run for some people, game crashes on a lot of people, and even more players can't access their loadouts.

Tears of joy.

Everything about the update is shit. In addition to not being able to access my inventory, I've actually noticed worse performance, and the weapon balancing attempts are laughable. And despite being called the hatless update there still isn't an option to turn off cosmetic items.

On the plus side, there is a new map... which is a cut-down version of an existing one.

Just like every other update, then.

Oh, and they think that we're fucking stupid by releasing 9 hats and a misc. item in an update just a few days before the so-called "Hatless" update. Yeah, like we didn't notice.

I'm interested in seeing how these new "hat styles" turn out, but the game's too broken for anyone to be able to screenshot it.

What an odd thread. Some seriously bizarre claims being thrown around by both Norfleet and DamnedRegistrations here.

I can see the argument of network latency partially negating advantages of high render speeds in a competitive FPS, but anyone perpetuating the belief that >30fps is practically useless in any gaming environment has to either have never experienced high-quality PC gaming or is just trolling.

I played for about thirty minutes last night (after the update) just fine.
