Game Informer has an interview with Todd "Ginger Kid" Howard about some expansion pack they're making for that Elder Scrolls game. The nicest part of the piece is black and white picture of some man lovin'. Anyway, monsters:

GI: Are there any particular monsters that you’re excited about?

Howard: I like the Grummites, because they seem to be more than monsters—they seem to inhabit this world. They have a little bit—as much as you can for guys who come out and attack you—it seems like they have some culture. They seem like they live there. They’re more believable in the environment, as opposed to Joe Creature who just pops up. Even though they’re all rooted in the environment, those, more than the others, feel like they live there, which always makes it feel a little more believable for me.

That is pretty exciting. It'd be the first thing in a recent one of their games that seemed like it was alive and lived in that area.

Howard: Well, there is an armorer in there who will build armor for you if you collect pieces. Truthfully, I think it’s gotten overblown. “You can make your own armor, you can make your own weapons.” They’re really in select areas. But they make for good collection quests. I get this stuff and I can go there and they can make something unique just for me, as opposed to just finding that thing. That’s really what it’s about.

Unique? For some reason I suspect there will be a rather short list of permutations, so not quite so 'unique' then Toddler?

And can I just say that was the scariest photo of two men I think I've ever seen. What the fucks up with Hines??

He sure likes to use the word "like". Which means that either its somehow similar or he just lacks a vocabulary outside the mindset of a 4-year old.

And what about "stuff"? Everything is a fucking stuff for him. It´s annoying to read.

so many good ideas, so much failure. say what you will about the games, they do take on a lot of interesting concepts and pioneer them... then slowly dumb them down over the next few installments. ah well, shit happens.

I always get them mixed up, but at least I think I know *now* that Pete's the one that says "y'know" a lot and Todd's the one who likes to say "like" a lot. Or is it the other way around?

Looking at the picture, I honest to God think it ought to be the new Codex background wallpaper thing. Yes, it is that good. Clearly it was meant to be used in a way like that, given its size. This haunting image depicting the male bonding between the otherwise incompatible Fetus Faces and Super Mutants should be worshipped and looked up to forever, and everywhere in the world.

*salute*

Oh fuck, it must be fake, photoshop at it's best. What are those swellings in his face? And just by the by, the Toddler doesn't only speak like a 4-year old, he even looks like one. Thanks Saint, you just made my day...and I didn't even bother to read that shit.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Creative painters and people who throw opulent dinner parties with really odd things—stuff like that is actually in the game. That’s what it was about, and those are both sides of Sheogorath. If you’ve played the Sheogorath quests in Oblivion, when he’s raining dogs on the people, it’s kind of funny that he’s raining flaming dogs on the people, but it’s also disturbing.

Whoa, stuff like that is actually in the game! How amazing! I cannot hold myself!

And how stupid must he be to make such an obvious repeat in the sentence? When he's raining dogs on the people, it's funny that he is raining dogs on the people. Todd, please, go and take some additional English lessons, it was not good for you to skip them at school.

GI: Are there new mounts?

Howard: No. We’re less a fan of the horses than most people.

People liked them?

Holy mother of God! I just looked at the picture. Pete looks like that bug guy in Men in Black when he pulled the skin back. Anyone can find this picture to compare?

We're less a fan of the horses ... because we're unable to handle combat on horseback and because we're unable to implement decent controls, so riding on horseback feels like drivin' a tank in the current game.

Only difference is that you can shoot out of a tank.

@vortexv1:

Arena and Daggerfall HAD level-scaling, it just wasn't as retarted as in Oblivion. You still could encounter enemies that were absolutely too strong for you, and find good equipment at the start. They were games that actually had good level scaling. Oblivion doesn't. That's the difference.
