Ok Toddie sounds like Arena and Daggerfall HAD level scaling.
Level scaling = old school ???????
Can anyone confirm this? Or are you noobZ just like me that started with morrowind?
They had, but in a more smart way than Oblivion. It's a joke to say 'similar to Arena or Daggerfall'.
You cannot complete Arena or Daggerfall main quest with a level-1-char - but you can complete Oblivion main quest with a level-1-char.

Damn man, I actually feel bad for making fun of pete now. Jesus, I totally feel horrible about it. I'm not kidding, I might cry or something. I'm overcome with... guilt.

One wonders what is worse for the recipient: scorn or pity.

He sure likes to use the word "like". Which means that either its somehow similar or he just lacks a vocabulary outside the mindset of a 4-year old.
Nah, he's just addressing his target audience

GI: Are there new mounts?

Howard: No. We’re less a fan of the horses than most people.

People liked them?

*g*
We're less a fan of the horses ... because we're unable to handle combat on horseback and because we're unable to implement decent controls, so riding on horseback feels like drivin' a tank in the current game.

I love that attitude he shows in the part about horses.

"Horses suck because we designed them badly. So instead of fixing the problem and implementing mounted combat and decent controls, we'll get rid of them."

How many gameplay will they get rid of from the Fallout series in Fallout 3 because they can't get it right?

I´m pretty sure there would be a Highwayman car that you can use to travel the desert, but it will be useless since towns would be so close that you will be anywhere in less than 5 seconds.

So, why is a plane of oblivion populated with argonians and other normal people. Seems a bit odd to me.

Actually, I thought Oblivion was pretty good at dark humor. Some of the dark brotherhood comments or the necrophile dark elf were good for a laugh...or at least a WTF moment. I think it's just that Todd has no tact with his PR language. He comes off as an ignorant little teenager who didn't finish highschool. Reading his words is simply painful for anyone with a good grasp of the English language...even more painful when you realize that all of the bad decisions with Oblivion were most likely his. Sadly, his "bad" judgement seems to work well for their broad audience. Then again, only about 25% of people go to college...even less graduate, and intillegent people who don't go are few and far between. The success is not too surprising.

Hell, even with Oblivion modded up to the brim with OOO3 the game undoubtably gets dull and repetitive once you reach lvl 25. Unless your a goddamned moron, it is nearly impossible for anything to kill you. I can mop the floor with a room of the toughest vampires with no clothes, and an iron dagger. Just pointless.

Don't you mean...MAD? HA HA HA GET IT

Reading that interview again, it seems that Todd manages to hold his own without the aid of the PR cocksucker. [Oblivmans Referance ON]

All PR guys are non-essential but they make the product flow smoothly to oil it off to the masses and make sure the ratings system don't fuck up the game sales etc. Stuff like that.
Unfortunately I still think they should keep Hines on a tighter leash and not allow him to interview except for boring shit. That's just a mistake. They are being too generic with that. We want to hear from devs not some polished point of view about skin peeling off of flesh. Launch him outta there.
Plus the previews that these dudes give are way to dam SUPERFICIAL. WTF!
Try to negate some other concerns people had with the previous game and do your job. Like [quest hand holding] etc. Doesn't a gamer want to actually, heaven forbid, FIGURE OUT a quest? One previewer during a half hour video review only mentioned briefly that the quests felt like accomplishing something.
THAT"S A MAJOR POINT. Not "oh the purty graphics! waepons armor" and few quest tidbits. Grow some nutz.

GI: How much of the new content is tied directly into the story versus standalone quests?

Howard: About the same percentage—no, it’s probably higher. I’d say 60% to 70% is the main story, and the miscellaneous quests are the other 30% to 40%. But the other miscellaneous quests are tied into that theme, whereas in Oblivion the Fighter’s Guild is doing their own thing, the Dark Brotherhood is doing their own thing, in this, everything feels more connected, which was our goal.

This is a plus. Should be mentioned in the news.

GI: We’d love to have a house on the corner of Mania Avenue and Crazy Lane. Will there be any new mushroom houses for sale?

Howard: Mushroom houses? No. There is a town called Split, which is right in the middle. Half the people are Mania and half the people are Dementia, and they have to actually have duplicates, and the one side wants you to go get rid of the other. It’s a fun town. And that’s just a miscellaneous quest, but it’s an example of how it ties in.

Ha! Didnt answer the question.

Yeah, no wonder when his target group is ignorant teenagers who didn't finish highschool.
Just taking a look at the ESF makes Todd seem intelligent compared to the Oblivion players.

And somehow he seems that he is always going like "WHOA that game rocks!!!" when he is interviewed. The overuse of the words "I like it" and "cool" are very obvious.

Somewhere damp and cold.
I'm looking forward to Jimbob's Shivering Nights 2 or whatever the fuck its called review. Speaking of the game, IGN released several new screens yesterday.

Swing! Swing! Block! Thrust! Block! Swing! POWER ATTACK!

Thankfully they haven't removed the compass. That would've caused an uproar. Check out the plant life (?) inhabiting the water. Utter Madness.

Argonian Tits

Todd's favorite creatures

Haha. I love how they're making all the plantlife resemble Morrowind.

Todd kinda looks like Dave Mustaine

Except that Dave Mustaine doesn't have any resemblance to a chicken at all. Whenever I see Todd's face, chickens' "bak bak baaak" sounds echo in my mind.

Or they could sell them for profit if there was a decent economy. It could be based on quest completion per town.
The only real benefit I can see is that extra quests are given but you can't be a Lord in OBL. I haven't even gotten that far yet anyway.
