I bet the publisher is also responsible for 0 update of development on steam or official forum.

Yeah like version numbers mean anything in the game industry.
They could release the game tomorrow, call it version 1.0 and then "fix the bugs".
The only game that is good with versions is DayZ, that's why it's still in 0.6sth after like 3-4 years in Early Access

I think the recent PR drama has destroyed any chance of the actual game getting a fair review here.

Rubbish, there's still plenty of Codexers who don't have any idea what "inXile" is, much less what this drama is about. Just snatch up one of those guys with 35,000 posts in GD, send them a copy of Torment, and force them to write at least 500 words about it.
