Part of the problem now is that everywhere is a Lustria Bowl.
The problem with Lustria isn't the many LLs, it's the corridor-like layout that is a pain to traverse without some sort of teleport stance.

Mountains of Mourn, World's Edge Mountains etc pretty much have the same problem
The series' map design has, overall, declined heavily from the times of Rome.
I’d argue that probably the only aspect of the series that has improved since then is the visual representation (which is kinda nothing burger of an achievement). All the ideas that addressed the strategic and tactical layers were dumped in favor of a more streamlined, flashy gameplay.

  • Have experience of working on a strategy game as a core/balance/system designer or be an avid strategy player with deep understanding of gameplay, systems and balance.
  • You will have experience of balancing large sets of numbers, for unit balance, progression systems etc. or on core systems design and seeing those designs through to execution and with ongoing support.

Desirable
  • Experience of development of a title from start to finish with an understanding of the process of delivering the game is a plus
  • Deep understanding of Total War
  • Wide understanding of the full range of games in the strategy genre
  • Great attention for detail and strong visual sense
  • Strong historical knowledge is a plus
  • Strong familiarity with the Warhammer universe
