The only thing that could conceivably hurt his career would be if they'd succeed with linking his name to promoting piracy, but that didn't go anywhere, so Ben focused on that weird "never make mistakes and besmirch journalism's good name" thing.

I'm not sure how that was supposed to "hurt his career" in any way. What the hell is this, 90s amateur hour? I thought we finally got past the point where piracy is the big bad wolf and everyone that can be associated with it is worse than a murderer. Besides, emulation is legal anyway.
