Having played a bit more now, it does seem to get better. Once you have some decent equipment and enough money to put a decent party together, combat feels a lot less random. Also, the doom squad that raped me was apparently just a story event. I had the option of simply not taking jobs in that area until it passed by and the encounters stopped being complete horseshit.

Item drops do seem to be extremely random though. I've found some very expensive and powerful items from the earliest parts of the game (including a one use item that basically overkilled the entire enemy party) and after even a little more progression, I'm finding much better stuff. The loot is mostly handled through trapped boxes, and there's a few ways to go about handling them, but the cheesy ways tend to make them extremely profitable- far more so than the missions themselves.

Opened this one up and got two items, one undientified. Items can also be cursed or broken, and seem to have some hidden attributes. Either that or the 'unlucky' shoes were wildly underpriced just to screw with my head.

After progressing even a little bit my options for what I can recruit, buy, and learn have all expanded significantly. Skills unlock both from gaining ranks and in a skill tree sort of fashion- although what or when you'll unlock stuff isn't stated, I've unlocked two different new sword skills by raising their predecessors to level 5 (out of 20). There is a LOT of room for combat skills, too, and there are passives as well.

Also, regarding the minions, they may not be as unbalanced as I first thought. I've discovered they can gain new skills as they level up, and their stat gains aren't linear either. So maybe the shitty slime monsters really DO serve some sort of purpose...

Oh, to clarify about the combat though, because this is rather odd and not at all obvious from the screenshots: You only directly control your main character. You can arrange the formation and change general standing orders for your team (attack a certain row, go all out, just defend, etc.) but you can't control individual monster's actions. This can be rather frustrating when it comes to healing and does keep the combat somewhat random in that regard.

It's a porn game. The plot so far has been that I fucked a whole bunch of girls dumb enough to get in a fight with me. I think you could safely ignore it.

I'm enjoying it so far

Though it's going to become pretty repetitive soon.

Almost Rance Quest like

Fantastic. Now there's a sequel to the game I desperately wish to play but cannot because saturn emulators are made of suck.

Dragon Force II is playable on emulators (with specific versions and set-ups, but playable nonetheless).

Saturn emulation doesn't suck THAT bad now.

Yeah, I actually just got Yabause working. I've tried SSF before and not only does it not load the rom, it won't even register any sort of controller/keyboard inputs. And Satourne won't even get that far, it just launches some sort of incredibly gimped pseudo window with nothing but the closing/resizing buttons in the top right corner of normal windows.

Looks like I'll finally be able to play Dragonforce, and a sequel afterwards to boot. Though I think I'll finish Bunny Black first. Still rather curious about a lot of stuff in the side dungeons and stuff.

Bunny Black ended up a pretty fun game.
With good girls. Shia was great.

It was really hard at the start but became pretty easy towards the end.

Get SSF. Even on my current rig it runs pretty nicely, plus I had little to no issues with game compatibility (Baroque is the only game I couldn't run for now).
If version 0.12 doesn't run on your PC, try 0.11 and see how it goes.
Can't say anything about Yabause, though.

If you're looking for a way to emulate Saturn on a tablet, though - forget it.
Saturn.Emu runs like shit, crashes too often, and developer didn't do shit about it for quite some time.
I'm not even talking about Yabause - try it only to see the glitches and low performance. It's also abandoned for now, btw.

I like the game well enough but it seems a bit hard and I'm not sure if I'm doing something incorrectly. As soon as the Yellow guys show up its fucking buttrape time by share numbers.

Just avoid them for now. You can always retreat early if need be, missions don't have to completed in one go, either.

The game does get too easy eventually, due to the way your skill gains scale. Eventually you get so many overlapping support abilities your whole team is nigh invincible. Mind you, even with all this bullshit I'm still having trouble in the second optional dungeon, so it's mostly a matter of progressing at your own pace. You can easily trivialize a lot of the game if you grind too much, but it can be difficult too if you press ahead with the story ASAP.

:yeah:

Oh, a couple more tips for making combat less tedious: You can hold right mouse to speed combat up, and the empty slots on the right of the main combat menu can be filled by targetting them with whatever abilities you tend to spam in combat.

Early on I recommend focusing on the easy cleaning missions to get some cash to improve your equipment. Get some allauackbar slimes (the red deathsilmes) to kill any idiot attacking you. Get some tanky monsters later (like the wall).
Also some monsters bring some nice skill to the party. Fairies show your position in the map, and Walls show the maps exits.

Eventually you will get a decent party that will survive long enough, but don't be afraid of getting better monsters. Later on you can invest in some nice spells, like the bonus XP one (a bit cheesy if maxed, you will swim in skill points). ANd consider investing on Warp magic later on, you eventually get a spell to exit the map (very useful in the later more complicated maps).

(Is quite hilarious that virtually every woman you get your paws on is a virgin)

Man, getting your early game mooks up in levels is pretty impossible. They really don't last long.

I was expecting much less from this game, wtf, it can actually be fun?! SAWYEEEEER!

The romantic development between Shia and Darx shits all over any bioware crap.

Someone needs to lets play it.

I'd do it myself (Darx is far more interesting than Nanas and Bunny Black has a log option) but I'm going to try and continue regularly updating Mamatoto first.

So was saying Bunny Black was bad the translator's secret cunning plan to get more people to play it?

Is not terribly good. ShChara had better stuff in the past (like the Dungeon Keeper clone). Afaik there aren't extra routes or anything like that, doesn't seem to have much replayability. Is good for what it is.
