I would have thought tranvestite dwarf sex would have delighted the sick bastards here at the Codex. But its Bioware, isn't it? And anything Bioware does = shit, by the high and mighty Codex standards.

If Troika had done this (actually, they did, didn't they? In Arcanum...), I bet you lot would love it.

Hey, how does it feel to be a gigantic dumbfuck?

I don't know 'Darth Roxor', how does it feel?

I was hoping you would tell me, 'Mattshitloadofirrelevantnumbers'.

Nope, you're the most qualified person here to tell us. Go on, tell us, how does it feel to be a gigantic dumbfuck?

I'm afraid I must disagree, good sir. On numerous occasions your posts have proven that you're an expert in dumbfuckery.

Pot calling the kettle black.

I actually thought that was pretty funny. Especially the nugs thing.

This is getting ridiculous

I think the gaming industry needs to talk a lot less about sex and think a lot more about design problems - that's what RPG players want, that's what they need. Some fresh, cleverly designed RPG that would pleasantly surprise you. Not some pathetic dwarf faggotry.

Seriously, these guys need to grow a braincell. When was the last time when we saw something actually fresh in an RPG design-wise?
As far as I remember, that would be MotB with it's Spirit meter and even that was bashed by critics.
So wtf are these guys waiting for? It's been like two years now and nothing new on the horizon, except a pretty big, fat, scary dwarf cock.

Not that I don't want to like DA or any new RPG out there, it's just becoming harder and harder for me to do it. We have a saying here that goes something like "don't try to make a new brothel with the same old whores". Pretty much describes what I see on the RPG scene right now

You're overanalyzing, it's just a stupid brothel joke. Like the sheep in Arcanum.

Dear Mr. Matt7895!

I must admit that personally I share some of your sentiments based on the issue of this thread. As Mr. OgreOgre swiftly pointed out in very second post, Arcanum - a game held in high esteem by many honored RPG Codex members - previously included no less exquisite acts of fornication. Therefore any attacks on Dragon Age using this particular topic as an argument sound insincere and, dare I say, might have ulterior motives.

Hovewer, as sad as unimaginable it might sound, I have come to expect such sentiments coming from our esteemed RPG Codex colleagues. Therefore I decided to silently ignore it - a cowardly act to be sure. But with you stalwartly standing up and speaking against this obvious prejudice, I can remain silent no longer. Though we often see things in different light, know that in this cause you have my full support.

Sincerely,

The Artist Formerly Known As E.V.

Nothing special. And for me it sucks that they said about this before game release. It would be much more enjoyable when player discover it when playing.

Well, even if it was meant to be, now it's spoiled - I already know what would happen, so that would be neither funny, nor surprising when it does. It will be, as skyway puts it, "predictable, banal, shit". Damn, I never thought I would live the day when I quote him, but here I am.

Problem is, even if I'm overanalyzing, there is nothing else that would *surprise* me at that game even a little bit. Nothing seems really original and unique about it, really. A bunch of stuff ripped of from Martin's world (Gray Wardens), a gameplay supposedly ripped of BG 2 and storyline in the best of Bioware tradition.

Now, I know this whole thing sounds a lot like whining for the obvious reasons and I expect someone to quote me saying "I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT VIDEO GAMES" but this whole thing's gotten pretty disturbing. I mean, aren't RPGs and video games in general about exploring this vast, beautiful and unique fantasy world that keeps surprising you at every turn with it's... fantasyness? At least that's what's got me into video games in the first place.

Now it all seems predictable, which is a big drawback for me. Not that I don't like good games that are good and nothing new (I'm eagerly anticipating Risen and I know it will be Gothic on steroids, although one could argue that the game does use the element of curiosity and surprise when exploring the world) but I think it's time the game industry turned another page and left all this dark mature gritty sexsexsex in the past, where it belongs. Nothing artistic or fun about this shit (especially combined with mediocore writing and predictable characters)

I don't see why this is such a big deal. It seems like it could actually be a pretty funny easter egg.

Yes, exactly. You're writing nerdraging rants over something ridiculously trivial, this could easily have been a part of a Troika or Black Isle game.

If I would play the game it would be really funny to see a transvestite dwarf after it got announced in a pressrelease before. It seems they are badly in need pushing the game to even announce such little eastereggs. It´s called eastereggs because you have to search them and don´t read about it before even the game is released...

I wonder if there will be cards with "transvestite dwarfs" and "little subterranean bunny pigs".

And can someone tell me what the fuck does ‘Yes, the earth moved. It was wonderful.’ means?

I never can tell if people are being serious here, but...

It's a paraphrase of "I felt the earth move", which is a way to say you've just had some very satisfying sex.

I read somewhere that the original use was from a Hemingway novel - For Whom The Bell Tolls. Unsure about that one, though.

That's Gaider through and through.

Talking of whom, what happened to that old bugger? He used to give as good as he got here on the Codex. Maybe he just got trolled too hard.

Hmmm, in The Witcher characters would tell you that your mother sucks dwarf cock. Now Bioware ups the ante and lets you do it yourself.

He's become so lazy as a writer, he won't even write posts on the Codex any more.
