Thanks guys. This sure was a pleasant surprise. :)

Any chance on it being available on GOG as well?

Yes, I've submitted (or re-submitted if you will) the game to them as well.

Just a quick update regarding this. The game will not be available on GOG before full release. They are still not interesting in selling games in alpha state.

oh man Paranautical Activity beat back their legal problems and finally got on too! happy endings forever
I'm interested in this. What kind of legal problem was?

you can google that shit, but the short version iirc was that they were on Greenlight and then were picked up by Adult Swim for publication. Valve went WHOA WHOA WHOA WE DON'T WANT GREENLIGHTERS THINKING GETTING A PUBLISHER IS A WAY TO GET ON STEAM for some reason (I like to hope there was a "good" legal reason and not just their taking some kind of shitty stand) and for a while it looked like Paranautical wasn't gonna be able to be released on Steam OR get picked up by AS. I dunno how it all got resolved, but apparently it did! I picked it up on Desura and it's...okay. it's no Binding of Isaac so far.

Holy crap. Silent Storm, Zafehouse: Diaries, NEO Scavenger, Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land, Warmachine: Tactics. And also Shadow of the Eternals, lol

But no Elder Sign: Omens :(

Are they on Greenlight? They're kinda barely a game =\ and yet i keep going back to it so there must be something there

I never understood the desire to play an alpha/beta of the game. Why not just wait for the complete product?

While I agree from a player's perspective being able to sell Early Access is obviously a huge boon to developers. Hell, the mainstream crowd preorders games all the time. This is just a preorder where you actually have alpha/beta access.

People mostly want be involved in testing, especially if the project takes some sort of at least semi-open approach to development and their feedback is taken into account (which in theory is the point of early access) and/or to simply support the developer, in which case they may not necessarily even want to play the game before it's ready. In Underrail's case I originally bought the alpha only to support Styg (no time for proper testing), but couldn't stay away completely in the end and played it about 3/4 way through (it was easily my favourite game of 2012, so I can't really say I regret that).
