Hey, do you see Priest Robe art in inventory when you wear it on character?

Do you see it in inventory on the left panel? I can see description when hover mouse on robe, but don't see it on left panel.

Okay, next patch update I'm going to take a break from all this Falloutness and play some good old fashioned Arcanum. Just looking at the upcoming changes is truly amazing that, even after all this work Drog has put into fixes, there are still big problems. No game is ever complete, but damnit Troika! What happened? :P

I have often wondered the same thing myself. I especially lament the fact that they did not survive long enough to produce VtMB 2 (and 3, 4, 5, …). They were amazing at design and development, but poor at debugging and delivery of a quality final product. Nothing they produced was even remotely bug-free. Perhaps a bunch of developers do not think in terms of “striving for perfection,” but rather focus on being “artistic and innovative.”

Somewhat of a bug... After Caleb gives you the 'retrieve the whiskey' quest and you give up the whiskey to Malek Nebbs, you can rat him out and Caleb goes and smashes him and his crew. But even after that, you can say the exact same things to Caleb still, about you losing the whiskey to Malek and Caleb responds the same way. Yet Malek is laying in a pool of his own blood 5 feet away. Also, you can loot Malek and give them to Caleb and all is well. I would think Caleb would take the whiskey from Malek's body on his own.

PS: I want more VtM:B too... Why Troika? Why?!

EDIT: When speaking with the halfing bandit in Caleb's bar he says something that looks grammatically incorrect. Line 6: "... ... I never thought I'd see the an idiot was walkin' the streets a' the Boil!" It would look more appropriate if it was "... ... I never thought I'd see an idiot walkin' the streets a' the Boil!" Your thoughts?

Line 94 from the same halfing bandit. "its" should be "it's".

What is Franklin Payne's home town? He complains that the halfing bandit in Caleb's bar is from his home town if you attack him. Is Tarant his home town? Even though he doesn't mind if I slaughter the rest of the halfing's group?

Where is Mother Tilley? She seems to not be at the inn. Caleb tells you that the shack to the west is where the she would be.

After you join Pollock's gang and even kill Maug you can still talk to the half orc bandit about joining Maug's gang. The dwarf bandit the orc sends you to will not talk to you but instead calls you betrayer [maybe because you killed Maug even though you were never a Maug member?]. Don't you have to have his trust first before you can betray it? Not sure if this kind of thing happens if you join the other gang first though. Something to look into.

She isn't in the game. Troika probably just forgot about her...

Hello, glad to be on here, Arcanum rules!

Can someone direct me to the bug, et al thread or know why my pick pocket skill bar never fills all the way even with maxed DX?

Im just a plain ol' human with no significant background. when i add points to pickpocket, the first point only fills the bar 1/10 instead of 1/5th like everything else, so when all is said and done, pick pocket is missing 1/10th after adding 5 points to it

I am not sure why that is happening then. Maybe it's a crippled limb? But if it was, I would think it would be easy to identify. DBT would have a better idea than I.

EDIT: Franklin Payne's VO for 308 is missing a "Right!". He is talking about the Wheel Clan. I do not know if this is a bug or not but he is missing some VOs... I do not have the lines but it is when you asking plot related questions. Asking about Island of Thanatos, or Vendigroth Wastes, or Ruins of Brodgar [294]. The ones without VO seem to be the ones that are not 'where am I' questions.

EDIT: When playing as an imbecile and speaking with Arronax your dialog options are limited [which is fine] and you learn what is going on. With Kerghan and all that. But after you release from his shell, you act like you don't know anything and all you really want to do is kill him. Unless you let Arronax tell you what is going on, again.

You must be wearing gauntlets.

Gah, I am so retarded for not remembering that, it's been awhile since I played a character with those skills.

The female variant of this line sheds some light on the matter:
"<snip> I never thought I'd see the day that we'd have an idiot walkin' the streets a' the Boil!"
While the male one is:
"<snip> I never thought I'd see the (day) an idiot was walkin' the streets a' the Boil!"
I'm not certain which line is a later version, but I suppose the female one fits better, since the hafling addresses his "mates" at the beginning of the line:
"Look at this here, mates! We've got ourselves a real quick one! <snip>"
Thus, I'll replace the male one with this variant, if there are no objections.

The halfling and half-ogre are both from Black Root. I can't tell if this was intended or not, so it stays.

Yes, some of his later lines are missing VOs, i.e. there are no files.

I found a minor text error, which is in Stillwater after reading the book left by Joachim. In response to the question [6] You mean 'the First ASSASSIN' Trellian? Virgil's reply includes the sentence "We've all got, uh... blood on our hands." However, the voiceover says "We've all got, well... blood on our hands."

Dunno if someone reported that but there is something fued up with Ashbury town mayor and that statue quest. I talked to that funky guy and asked about the statue problem. At end I told him "good luck" and go somewhere else. Later I visited the town hall and when I started talk to mayor he thanks me for helping solving statue problem, though I didn't do anything.
I tried loading previous save many times, about every second load it happen again.

Also there is some mirror stuff, one dark elf corpse in Black Mountain clan, has blank sheet, instead of failure warning message.

AI

if this has been addressed already, I saw nothing in searching the forum nor the changelog.

I'm not sure if it's within the capabilities of scripting and messing with flags, or if this is hard-coded or whatnot... but would it be considered altering the balance to make virgil perhaps slightly less of a completely incompetent moron? did the developers program his AI like this on purpose?

with full fatigue, attacking or told to back off, armed or not armed, equipped with healing salves or not (I know he's not tech, but I assume he'd use something rather than nothing at all) he'll stand there and bitch and whine to me to help him, as he's been seriously wounded, and won't make a damn bit of effort to heal himself. he'll keep attacking as I load him up with fatigue restorers, we'll kill his target and he'll just move on to the next, bleeding from his ears, or perhaps just stand there as I've told him to stop attacking all together in the hopes that he'll take a fucking hint...

if the other followers are as ignorant of their own skills as virgil is, I'm going solo.

I recall that all of your followers fight like Virgil and I cannot recall if you can turn this behavior off in the game choices. Still, there is at least one way around this. When you suspect a fight is coming up, tell everyone to stay put a long way from the battle--perhaps two or three screens worth, although this depends on the terrain, if you are underground, etc. Then advance your PC to the potential battle area. If you have problems and need reinforcements, retreat to where you left your followers. They will then engage any hostiles that approach them, but they will stay more or less in their current area. Once you have handled the troublemakers, you can heal the group and repeat the process.

Redundant and looping dialog with Ashe. You talk to him and get info about his background and why he is loitering outside the graveyard. But after you accept the quest to retrieve the gem and don't take him with you, you still can ask those questions if you talk to him again. Instead of just saying "I have yet to retrieve the gem", you ask him about his background and why he is outside the graveyard as if you never asked.

EDIT: I do not know if this has been reported yet or not but the pig killing quest is bugged if you kill the pigs before you have the quest. Theo Brightstart in Ashbury gives you a quest to kill three little pigs in his crops but if you kill them before you get the quest/talk to him, you cannot complete the quest.

This is not a big deal but amusing... If you kill the Ashbury Mayor just as he gives his speech about the statue he continues to give his speech. Even though he is dead. After he does the speech unmolested he says "I can't believe you have the nerve to speak with me again! Good riddance!" when you talk to him and lowers his reaction 5 points. He started out as 65 reaction. Could this be because I was playing as an half-orc? Also, the speech itself goes by very fast, making it hard to read. The mayor's responses appear as the questions from the crowd happen. Making the screen very crowded with text.

EDIT: Cedric Appleby claims in line 121, 35, and others that he can read most men like an open book, even if the protagonist is a female.

When talking to Schuyer and Sons, if you choose to kill magnus, you have to go through the whole conversation again.

Alternatively you can tell magnus to wait here and he doesn't get upset at you for making a deal with them, which is kinda retarded.

I was also wondering what happened to the fix for turn-based combat animations? It's not on the change list.

Not sure if this is intended or not but there is a "trash can" in front of the Ashbury town hall. The graphics are similar to a rubbish bin but acts as a chest, not a rubbish bin. Even has the chest sound when you open it, kinda odd. Maybe turn the trash can into a rubbish bin? Or just make it so it's use is like that of a rubbish bin or a real trash can. :)
