VALKYRIA CHRONICLES TOPS STEAM CHARTS
In a week featuring Halo and Assassin's Creed releases, who knew a JRPG could do this well?

Valkyria Chronicles has reached number one on the Steam download charts in its first 24 hours following release.

It's an impressive feat in a week that's seen several other big-name releases, such as the Halo: The Master Chief Collection as well as two new entries in the Assassin's Creed franchise.

The strategy RPG, which was originally released for PlayStation 3 back in 2008, was released on Steam yesterday; its move to PC was announced just a couple of weeks ago.

IGN placed Valkyria Chronicles in the top ten role-playing game stories of all time; to learn more about Valkyria Chronicles check out our extensive Wiki Guide. You can read our 2008 PS3 review of Valkyria Chronicles, but stay tuned to IGN for a review of the new PC version in the coming days.

What do you mean what? Anime based on a game is nearly as bad as anime based on a card game. It's like making a movie based off of a game, awful!

Valkyria Chronicles game: 2008
Valkyria Chronicles anime: 2009

Japanese are weird like that. They make anime to promote various products specifically: Cars, video games, card games, the list goes on. In this case, the anime was intended to help drive sales of the console game.

 so apparently, since the anime was made after the game and the game never sold that good, the anime was made for the sole reason to make a crappy anime.

Surely you mean the opposite, that the game was very successful and the anime was made to cash over it...
Actually, the game was a cult hit more than a mainstream one.

You know what's amusing? currently There is two top-tier animes airing that were made to promote card games (Shingeki no Bahamut, stupidly high production quality, and Wixoss, A.K.A let's promote a card game by making an anime where card games are a metaphor for drug addiction).

I am enjoying the turn based system, and the game has quite some charm. The Edelweiss tank is like the child of a beautiful love between a Panther and a King Tiger... Now if we could have another Front Mission...

Don't try to steer the Edelweiss-tank with A/D; use W/S and mouse only.
Enable VSync as well.

Keep 30 FPS locked as rate of fire on automatic weapons is tied to FPS and instead of wounding your crew dies if intercepted. Wait for the patch on this.

yes, it is - challenging squad tactical combat -> turn based with real time movement.

You could also just learn to play and stop moving units into the field of fire of shocktroopers or tanks

You could, but some maps are supposed to be taken by storm. At least if you want an A grade.

Yeah, I guess. But since the grade only counts the number of turns you needed and apparently nothing else its kinda worthless anyway.
