White Wolf is making a 20th Anniversary Edition of Vampire: The Masquerade and we want your help!

Why are we? Vampire: The Masquerade changed everything! Exploding into hobby games in 1991, it evoked and inspired a generation of fans of which the game industry had never seen before or since. The gothic and punk subcultures from which it drew, previously unseen in the gaming world, created an unparalleled worldwide phenomenon that spanned novels, TCG’s, LARPs, video games, and television. But it all started with one RPG. The cultural significance Vampire left on not just the gaming world but on modern vampire-related pop culture can be seen and felt at virtually every turn and in every medium today. This combined with the unwavering sheer dedication of an unparalleled fan base is the reason this book is being published. Vampire: The Masquerade – 20th Anniversary Edition brings the entire World of Darkness experience full circle and will serve as the perfect anniversary milestone to celebrate two decades of gaming after dark.

Who’s it for? This book is for all of the White Wolf fans who have lived, loved, and taken the long road with us for the past two decades. For the diehards who never gave up, never stopped believing and kept the World of Darkness alive. This is for all the saints, sinners, miscreants, punks, poets and outcasts who have been with us all this time. This is their original Masquerade in all its glory, and our way of saying thank you and welcome home.

What’s in it?

• All thirteen original clans, clan variants and bloodlines, with their signature Disciplines updated from the Vampire: The Masquerade Revised tabletop rules

• Rules for character creation and advancement from Neonate to Methuselah

• All the Disciplines from level one through nine

• Updated setting to the modern nights

• New full color original art by Tim Bradstreet & other classic “Masquerade” artists

• An “open community play test” development process

How do I get it? The Vampire: The Masquerade – 20th Anniversary Edition is a 500+ page ultra-deluxe edition that includes virtually every clan, bloodline and variant ever produced for the Vampire: The Masquerade game setting and will be available for direct pre-order from May to July 1 only.

It's out in pdf, and I believe in print as well. Download it, and someone run a game. I want to play one of those setites that can transform into a massive serpant.

Oh and this version not only has updated rules, but it also has full color brand new art. I think the art in the original was black and white.

Meh, I actually prefer the new World of Darkness. The old stuff was too 'gothic superheroes'.

Nice! Really want to get my hands on this book. Hopefully we'll see a Werewolf 20th anniversary edition next year too.

All the rules got rebalanced on this edition. Celerity got beaten with the nerf stick, among other things.

Does your religion allow it?

The new Vampire has some improvements, like much less metaplot, but has other forms of shittiness like covens (or whatever you call them) and weaker vampires over all. Vampires actually decrease in level when they go into torpor. That's reatrded and stupid, as it means there can be no methulseahs or antidiluveans. Or rather there can be, but they will be weaker than most vampires of this age.

Actually, I would say Promethean is the closest WoD has ever ventured to "gothic superheroes" (shitty books like True Black Hand not included), and it really works for it.

As for the new system, I'd say it vastly improves combat, not the least of which due to the way White Wolf revisited the old Combat book for oWoD and added fighting styles to Merits.

About fucking time, I don't think ANYONE who cared about the system side of things used the original Celerity, but rather the nerfed version from Dark Ages.

Oh yea, the colour picture of Ravnos is probably the most hilarious rulebook illustration I've seen since "Manwhore Wolverine Wants To Make Sweet Love To You" in Marvel Universe.

PS: I never knew those Sami vampires had rules.

So it's not possible to order it anymore?

Does anyone have it? Is the art good?

This would be cool to just have, but I bet we'll never play anything vampire but the Dark Ages. Only one guy in our entire gaming sphere likes the idea of modern day settings.

Oh yea, Stereotype flaw has been updated. Now you can choose between speaking with a Hungarian accent in a Dracula get-up and wearing copious amounts of bodyglitter.

Artwork is ok. Nothing special. Some good pieces, some bad, some average. They could have done much better.

Anyhow, I hope Dark Ages is also 20th anniversaried.
