Just tried the game for several hours. I am so glad I didn't give up due to the beginning's oversimplified combat and errands-running. Every feature gets more complex as the game unfolds. In combat there are parries, blocks, spells, attack effects dependant on the chosen weapon. The quests can be completed in various ways. Navigating the game cuts adrift from somewhat linear to larger, more free-to-roam-and-explore areas (backtracking included, hehe). And last but not least, it has this lovely outdated charm, not in the otherwise obvious sense of "game is outdated," but rather "grandmother's 2 meter tall wooden clock that appears to have come from another era." Neat hidden gem indeed.
