Planescape:Torment, Outcast, VTM:B, Arcanum and Deus Ex Musics, as mentioned, are really good.

The Dune Soundtrack (the first, not the STR) was also great.
It was not common at the time but the developer released it on a CD album titled Dune: Spice Opera.

memorable? :? The only one I remember is the Shinra Corporate song, which was actually pretty neat.
Sephiroth's evil theme, overworld theme, Aeris' death scene, Shinra, Makora plant, Cid's theme, Red XIII's theme, etc. Many memorable tracks, at least to me. Made great use of midi instruments that normally sound like cheap garbage. Sounded even better orchestrated.

Also should've mentioned Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean 2. Enix jRPGs had some great tracks, they sure loved milking reverb to its fullest.

If we're linking sites then OverClocked ReMix should be brought up. Tons of remixed video game songs and some really good ones too. You can listen to every song through their media player and download them too.

I like the space rangers techno tunes. They are catchy, although I generally don't love techno.

PST has some great (weird) tracks. My favorite is the Smoldering Corpse bar track (actually not from Mark Morgan, as far as I know - and nor is the Civic Festhall theme, my other favorite track from PST).

Arcanum deserves mention for the great violin intro track, of course, and Betrayal at Krondor features some surprisingly nice music for its age. Civ4 also has a few good tracks, but I am not sure whether any of them are specifically composed for the game.

NWN2 MOTB
Neverhood
The Witcher

Dune 2: The Battle for Arrakis (Sega Megadrive 2)

Nice site Locue, it doesn't have many of the classics but it's ddl , so no complaints here. Underground gamers have almost everything related to older games and soundtracks for both pc and consoles if you're into torrents.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I like those old Japanese NES, SEGA tunes. Not modern quality sound but they have catchy tunes.

Ninja Gaiden, Herzog Zwei, Revenge of the Shinobi, Super Diasenryaku, Golden Axe etc.

I find PC music pretty boring, except for Flame Dragon Knights 2. I actually ripped the xmid tracks from the game but modern synthesizers cannot repicate the correct tune. I've tried Dosbox, VDMS but they still sound weird.

That's probably my favourite Jesper Kyd piece. And i haven't even played the damn game. It has this over the top major ''epicness'' that borderlines with bad taste, but vaguely knowing the game's plot, it seems very appropriate. Anyway, anyone who's accustomed to Soul's ''booming orchestral epics'' won't get alergic reactions.

Letting alone the usual suspects like Morgan, i should really recomend VTM's soundtrack. You can torrent the complete set inculidng the ''Deb of Night'' radio show (which kicks ass). I don't think it's been officially released for those who's afraid to get their hands dirty.
As someone mentioned the Chinatown theme is really hauntingly beautifull aswell as most other ambient pieces, like the one at Giovanni's mansion. Very peculiar.
Just ignore the emo/goth metal part. I don't consider that a part of a soundtrack anyway. These are just used as a backdrops in clubs an sutch.

My favourite theme is the main one in "The Witcher".

But I've to give an special mention to the guys of EB (Europa Barbarum) the mod for Rome: Total War, not only it's amazing for a modification, but it also tries so hard to be historically accurate that it can transport you to the past, that's a nice feat.

Homm II was way better.
HoMM II is, in all seriousness, quite possibly the pinnacle of video-game soundtracks. I don't know anything that even comes close. Turrican II maybe, but that's good in an entirely different way and comparing the two isn't fair.

It's just some shitty wannabe operatics

the game's plot
Freedom Fighters is so corny it hurts. It's a kinda crappy game, too. Probably works better on console than on PC, which is what I have.

Recently I played the first dozen or so or so chapters of Fire Emblem and I've got to say it's taken the "corniest game ever ever ever" award.
