Well Horde modes tend to be FUN! and if the game is as fast as it looks with no cover system then i can see it as fun.

Giving me weird deja vu of War for Cybertron...
Never heard of WfC but fuck that looks horrible. Graphics are straight out of first gen xbox, gameplay is non existant. What the fuck Relic. They start out with something really innovative with Homeworld, dumb it down for DoW but still put some new stuff in, seriously retard it down for DoW 2 because base building who does that? Apparently they listened to fans too because every retard was going on how base building is boring and they want to frag shit. So, CoH 2 = CoD?

So you complaint is that a 3rd person shooter is not enough like Homeworld?? and other RTS games...
ARE YOU STUPID!!!. Is this International "let a retard post in your stead" day because that is some stupid fucking shit.
DoW2 was not dumped down it was a different type of RTS from DoW1 and especially CoH.

CoH that came after DoW added a lot of things and did some cool things in the form of AREA control and supply lines. DoW 2 removed some of them and went in favor of a more FAST moving gameplay where some of thous things would not work. LIKE supply lines and base building.

Next you are going to bitch that TF2 dose not have Iron sights and how it is helping to dumbdown TBS games right??.

Um... no... I'd put the blame on english as a second language but then that applies to me too.
Here's the thing, if you can understand it. Relic has always surprised the consumer with their games. They've removed and tried new things things where as other developers would just keep pushing out sequels with very little difference in them. This however, is just a brainless shooter with about as much innovation as a cup of warm frothing piss. You know how some publishers bought an IP and then gave it away to people just to make a quick buck? That's what I'm seeing right now.

Apparently.

Well technically it's not an RTS. And I'm not sure what you'd call removal of base building and resource management, leaving nothing but capping and mindless fragging - if not dumbing down, especially since the MP maps weren't any more interesting than the SP ones.

Yeah well, that theory might hold if it wasn't for the fact that CoH has plenty fast gameplay itself.

I don't play it so I can't comment. But yeah, another excellent strawman.

Brainless shooters are fun too, and this one isn't based around jumping from cover to cover which is a plus already.

Anyway, if you want to whine should wait for Dawn of War 3 which they announced is going to be more "MMO-like".

If I saw a Space Marine acting like one of the garbage trucks from gears of war I would nerdrage. Do power fists look like the type of weapon for someone who peeks around corners?

Uh, there is resource management, in the form of getting requisition and power, and also victory points. In fact, the whole metagame of multiplayer is fighting over these resource points. There was a removal of base building yes, but the emphasis shifted over to resource management. In fact mostly I prefer to harass power nodes, rather than just mindlessly "capping and fragging."

Did you actually play multiplayer or did you just boot it up for 1-2 games and then quit out of disgust without actually learning how to play? DoW2 vanilla single player is actually very shitty compared to multiplayer and the CR campaign, so maybe you got sick of the single player and didn't give the multiplayer a chance.

And gameplay nonexistent in Space Marine? What do you expect from a TPS? Complexity? What's most important for gameplay in such a game is: Weapons with tactical variety (and we've got from melee from jumppacks to regular bolters to heavy suppressive weapons with alternate modes), subjective "pace" or "feel" (seems okay), and interesting map design. I don't want innovation, or need my shooter to be "inspired."

I guess the one thing missing that I like from similar games (e.g. Unreal, Quake) is more variety of interesting mutliplayer modes.

Or do you mean you'd rather play a 64-player Battlefield 40k with Dreadnoughts and Rhinos and Leman Russes? Then ignore my post because I have no argument here.

:what:

It would have some kind of Persistent Multiplayer Camping and more Static hero choices like something like the MP in Total war.

It is not as bad as it sounds.

still waiting for the fabled 40k side scrolling beat em up with horrendously awesome cheesy stage dialog, balanced playable character team that has nothing to do with tabletop stats or lore whatsoever and a bonus stage where you control the emperor flying around in space singlehandedly destroying enemy naval fleets and dodging their lasers

Her is the original part that was said as a small part of a bigger THQ interview with Euro gamer.

McDermott stated the RTS sequel "is going to have a much larger strategic component to it, more of a global battle going on with little tactical things, sort of MMO-like".
