Why are they doing a Razer tie-in? Did Tan donate a bunch of money to WL2?

I like Razer (at least, now I do—for years I considered them the Alienware of gaming peripherals, but their recent DeathAdder, the Orbweaver, and their mousepads are great), but you could play WL2 with a $5 mouse on a napkin.

It's been a while since i last saw anything about W2. This game looks great in the last video but i hope they won't rush the game because of deadline and release a bug ridden engine that will fixed months later.
I have one question for our members who have been following the developement process though: It's only been 1.5 year since they announced the KS, is this enough time to develop a rpg of this scale?

Why do you think anyone here can answer this?

Anyway, it has been discussed before and some people seem to be more sceptical than others. I think we'll just have to wait and see; they might not even have a hard deadline so we can't be sure whether it might affect anything in terms of the games quality.

Because there are people that work in Inexile here and some of us (especially those who worked in the industry) might have followed the developement process from the start.

As far as I know the game is on schedule for release on October, although I suppose they might want to take a month or two more to polish it after the beta. If you have questions for the inXile staff, you should tag Brother None.

Depends entirely on whom you ask.
And how much they had ready to go. Fargo is giving Torment a much long pre-production period for example.

Because more is better?

We'll see how people react to a game that is "good, but small" when Shadowrun Returns is released.

Re: Wasteland 2, it's possible that people expecting a Fallout 2-sized game will be disappointed, although who knows, inXile might end up surprising us.

I'm not sure what the question is.

I think InXile is able to make Wasteland 2 so quickly because they had done a lot of work on it prior to pre-production. Then I have pointed out that for their next title, they planned more time for it because they didn't have the early work done.

Fallout 2 maybe not, but i expect at least Fallout size. Anything smaller i thing is too small, unless they make the most reactive and replayable game to date.

So, they did a pre-pre-production before pre-production? Does it even make sense?

What's a lot of work? A working engine? No. Working systems? No. Areas design? No. Interface and assets? No. All written dialogues? No. They did have some work done before the KS, but from what's been mentioned, it was on a very limited scale. A story draft plus some ideas thrown around. In terms of time saved, its value is very low.

Anyway, as much as I'd love to play WL2 in a few months, I surely hope that they'd delay it for at least 6 months. It's not the kind of game I want done half-assed annd half-assed is all you can do in 18 months.

We'll delay it until Thursday at the latest.

PS: what's with the "six months" figure?
