Fishy, fake news, and citation needed are not enough for you?!
Realistically fishy should be it, but it doesn't really convey sincere doubt and especially not in the context of how the Codex community interacts with itself. 'Fishy' denotes skepticism in the motives behind the argument rather than uncertainty in argument itself.
That said, what is really needed is to go back to the old Brofist system; Codex is supposed to be an old school discussion board, not social media. If you doubt what a poster says then note that during the discussion.
We need to go back even further, to before brofists. What I learned from having my fisting privileges removed for years is it was for the best. Autism buttons are just that. A lesser version of the social media cancer. They add nothing to discourse, enslave you to silly dopamine hits, and on top of that lead to really dumb rules and moderation policies like "oh no you are not allowed to serially rate or we will action you!!! even though its a feature we added".
Some ratings like "edgy" are useful when you wanna tell someone to fuck off and don't feel like elaborating, but yeah, you have a point. It can turn posting into a game of who can score the most brofists, prestigious, funny, nuke it from orbit... not saying this like I'm any better, I do it too, but it is what it is.
It's fundamentally impossible to stop once it's there. You can rail against it, but you're going to use it. That's why all the social media websites use it. It's basic chemical manipulation. It's one thing to use such things in a game where that's the experience you're seeking out, but "gamifying" discourse is simply awful. Not to mention the fact that not a small number of people simply use it as a form of harassment. Which I don't necessarily have a problem with, but it's petty and probably not what the people who defend it or wanted it had in mind. Hence the whole need to have that retarded rule of "no serial rating", because of course that's what people do with it.
Discourse is by its nature already somewhat of a game (just look at China), but I understand why you wouldn't want web forum features to amplify that. Attention chasers, prestige chasers, social status chasers, gossipy schoolgirls, and men who behave like gossipy schoolgirls are just the worst company there is. I say I like to chase high scores with my posts, but I don't do it all the time, and I don't do it if it means lying, telling half-truths, stroking my ego, or personally insulting someone who doesn't deserve it. When you're an autismo like me, you gotta have principles.
