I pretty much stopped playing games for several years, until returning to the hobby recently. Focused on other pastimes in the interim. The mid-late 00's were just depressing from an RPG front.

Yeah, DotA also happened during the last days of Lan Parties. Being able to beat leavers up and bully feeders in real time improved the DotA experience a LOT. Then we went on to play Dota 2 only to realise that these features are sadly lacking when playing online.

I had CS, WoW, SC2, DOTA2 and old crpgs so I didn't really notice at the time. Now there are more games than I will ever have the time to finish. I also recently discovered the joy of older fps games (Doom, Blood, etc.).
