As the title says.

It seems that all images linked from imageshack turn into this on the Codex:

blocked_domain.png

Did we finally piss off Bioware/Bethesda enough for them to take matters into their own hands, or it is a butthurt fanboy working for imageshack?

It's a shame, since some of my favourite Let's Plays used imageshack and now they're gone. :(

this domain violates imageshack's tos
Why all the pictures in my blog replaced by an image that contains the following message :"this domain violates imageshack's tos" ?

I think it has something to do with this:

ImageShack TOS said:
If any domain hotlinks to abusive files, any file hotlinked on that domain will display this image, and the domain's owner must ensure the quick removal of all files hotlinked from ImageShack on that domain. Domains containing the phrases "toplist", "topsites", "porn", or "hentai" are banned regardless of abuse.
Either way, it's butthurt like this that is the reason I built our own gallery. Use something other than ImageShack in future.

That's why I only use my own website.

:obviously: :obviously:

I sometimes use tinypic too, when I can't be arsed to use anything else than my browser to upload something.

Curious, my TFTD and FF3/6 are both on Imageshack and they show up.
Clear your browser's cache maybe. They're blocked, but not gone (blocked from hotlinking to this site).

For Firefuck, just use RefControl extension.

Some shit sites might not like Referer: header blocked out (usually those ad-infested shit download sites); with this plugin you can add exceptions.

An open letter to ImageShack (give me a break, I'm slightly inebriated, and hurt :sniff:)

Dear ImageShack,

As one of the many fervent subscribers to the prestigious online magazine hosted at RPGCodex.net, it has shockingly come to my attention that your service feels itself no longer fit to honour the timeless tradition of hosting pictures, or pics in the vulgar modern parlance, that one can link to, since you feel that this domain has ravished your Terms of Service in some manner that one can only assume to be beyond what decency would allow you to reveal.

I wish to make it publicly known that while I have no connection whatsoever with the publishers of said prestigious magazine and that this letter should in no way negatively influence any possible future reconciliations with the aforementioned magazine, I submit to you that this dereliction is tantamount to having set fire to the Library of Alexandria, if the Great Library hosted a wealth of iconographic video game imagery such as can be found on this magazine's "Let's Play" subforum http://www.rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=38 , also known as the Codex Playground to the gin and tonic substratum.

The good humoured ribaldry found among the denizens there may even give good cause for a nun to blush from time to time, but we believe it to be the case that you may have erred on the side of too much caution and cast your aspersions too wide, giving a black mark on all our character.

So let's make a deal, unban the site and we promise no more tranny pics. Or more - your call.

Yours sincerely,

Some guy on the Internet.

P.S.,

I don't know what we did, but it can't have been that bad.

Oh shit.

I hope it doesn't take DU too long to implement a proper batch upload feature to the Codex gallery.

My new official response, but I can't post it because now the site's explicitly fucking with me. Maybe Alex will see it here and know what emotional trauma it's causing me (nothing against you, Alex, it's your and his brother's site, and whoever's and all, but don't let being a millionaire make you forget what being a bro is like! Is that so much to ask?):
Thank you for your clarification, Alexander. I hope it didn't cause too much hardship reading one sentence to come to that five word summation. I shall endeavour to work on my obviously lacking sense of humour for future posts, which you can be rest assured of, will not darken the doorstep of your fine establishment.

(Again, no official affiliation with the site - just wondered why all that sudden hate *now* after all this time. It's not like everybody knows when some moron links to porn using imageshack instead of a more freedom-loving hosting service. Good night and God bless.)
