and many more , i agree that games like horizon forbidden west suck because of the bland story and characters but the one from above are really good , the only modern rpg that seems acceptable here is elex

yeah the characters and story were not as good as the 1st one but to be fair origins raised the bar pretty high , i dont expect bioware to reach that bar with dragon age 4 either

Plenty of users have opined that ELEX is garbage.

Codex isn't a prison and users have access to the whole Internet. How they act here isn't really indicative of how they act on some other discussion site.

Old-school, pre-social media forums like this in general are couched on anonymity and have always been favored as an outlet for venting about things that make you angry or frustrated. It's not so much that users are psychotically angry about everything all the time (although a few are) as they tend to come here when there is a development or trend in their hobbies or interests that frustrate them.

Not sure how Dark Sous got on your list. There are a handful of people who come down hard on it but it is one of the most consistently praised games on the Codex.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker was also well received, it was Wrath of the Righteous where cracks started to appear.

That being said, there's no set of Codex opinions and never has been. It used to be a meme that there was a codex "hivemind" but there never was. Not everyone is serious with the shit they post here. Learn to read between the lines a little. The most discussed games are the most played. Ignore if they're being hated or praised. If they're talking about it that's what Codexers are actually playing.

To actually answer OPs question:
All the games you named are dragging the entire genre into the mud through various means.
DOS/Larian are incompentents who are full of themselves and believe they're the funniest guys ever. They stole the name of a beloved series for name recognition and are now busy adding their own brand of retardation to everything, like the toilet chain and endless barrels.
Dark Souls itself isn't a bad game but singlehandedly created a fad that's still ongoing with "lul gaem hard = IT'S A SOULS-LIKE!"
Dragon Age encapsulates almost everything that's wrong with modern Bioware - Derivative characters, horrible design, horrible writing and lowest common denominator gameplay.

These games are shat on by different groups of people, Elex fanbase isn't big enough for the game to get heat. Fans of Owlcat shit on Larian games and vice versa. Witcher 3 is hated so much because it won RPG Codex GOTY years ago, which enraged fans of different types of RPGs.
Be aware that RPGs are one of the most diverse genres out there and the games can be judged by completely different criteria. A standard point and click adventures will always be judged based on plot and puzzle design mostly. A game with terrible story or puzzles will most likely be considered shit. On the other hand each supposedly "core element" of an RPG can be non-existent and it will still be considered a classic for some people. Story? Wizardry games don't need story. Exploration? Shadowrun games didn't need it. Combat? Disco Elysium had almost none and it's 2019 GOTY. Puzzles? Witcher 3 has none of these. Etc. etc. People shitting on these games aren't bashing the game themselves but also an RPG type they represent. And we aren't even getting into ideological issues some of these might have.
