I think the problem lies in 360. A lot of Xboy launch titles got delayed for some reason.

Get a job and learn about the world.

What the fuck does a job have to do with the world?

Bottom line is that the lack of information given about the delay will have little to no effect on sales come release. So who cares how it was handled. Saying that I do think Pete Hines is a prick, but thats because he is not directly related to the making of the game and I hate people who speak for a game that they're not directly working on, (usually because they know shit) even if it is their job.[/quote]

Even if that were so, they should have at least released the PC version before christmas imo....but hey, that would be blasphemy in these 'consoles are the future' times we live in. Imagine the hysterics that would cause with all the console TES forumers  Damn, I'd even pay good money to see that...

Zenimax is privately held. It's not as though Beth can go off half-cocked and say shit that Jeff Vogel could say in a blog without repurcussions from above, but they also aren't endangering public stock.

I'm interested in finding out which heads will roll because they missed launch and Christmas (which is flushing money down the toilet - probably more money than they'll get from broadening the game), but that's not anything we're going to be directly told.

Well I've no problem with them taking time to playtest and doing some more QA work, although by the standards that the game are being released today, I can only wonder how bad things may be that they have to forego the holiday season launch window.

That is a scary thought. It could be another Dungeon Lor...no...no...I won't say it.

We've already gone way beyond what we did in any game previously in playtesting and balancing this game. Way beyond. But there is work that needs to be done and so development continues to go on pretty much around the clock.
I don't get it.

It's simple really, Bethesda gave the game to MicroShit and said, ' there you go, it's finished.'

Bill Gates said, 'what's this crap? I said 30 frames a second.'

30 seconds of stunned silence later and Beth are like, 'whoa, our fans have never asked for that, and look at the soft shadows and parallax mapping.'

BG's like, 'I thought we'd come to an agreement about your old fans. You're writing this game for my new customer base. Now bring it back next week with 30 FPS, and where's the mounted combat you promised?'

Beth 'Sorry master, we'll get it fixed, see you tuesday.'

One private meeting later, 'So here's what we do, we'll tell Take2 we need more time, and they can publish that we're going out next quarter. That way it'll look like we're at the mercy of the money men.

Todd, 'So what do we tell the fans on the forums, they think it's out in two weeks.'

Pete, 'Who?'

Todd, 'Our fans. On the forum.'

Pete shaking his head, 'Don't know what you mean. Now turn over, it's my turn.'

Much giggling and merriment ensues.

Well at least it's a nice change from delivering games filled with bugs. I guess they don't have much choice either, since not all console players are able to patch their games via internet.
At any rate, this is gonna cost them a shitload of money. If they're really delaying just to streamline the game, it's very commendable. However, I think it's more likely they found some gamestopping bugs.
I have become very curious what the end result will be. I'll have to wait and see...

That's right. The new breed of TES fan hopes Bethesda is cutting out even MORE elements. LESS SKILLS YAY!

I don't care what TES fans think. But it's fascinating that a company is sacrificing one month or more of income, just to tinker with gameplay balance and minor bugs. IF this is true Bethesda deserves some credits.

probably isn't the case, just thought it was remarkable

I used to have a job at a taco stand.

It didn't teach me much about the world, although I did get to shoot a few people.

They are not, things must be really wrong for then not to push it out the door ... likely they hit the "Xbox 360 bug" that is delaying so many games (no shit, they moved from a PC to a Mac and from a Nvidia to a ATI) and they are fixing that, Bethsoft always created and published bug ridden games.
