Why there's zero love for Star Wolves 3 aka Star Wolves 2: Civil War?

I loved the first, didn't like the second but I discover now there is the third!

That was a very nice post, Pope Amole II, I...shudder at your avatar, but the explanations was cool, will proceed to play it sometime.

hey bros, help me

I've been to Beta Lethera, got my third guy, found the station remains and the unusual fighter, escaped MSF forces back to New Jerusalem. However, I can't escape any further, any way I go I get destroyed by a whole fucking armada. what do

Well, the Greyhead (the third pilot, they should've translated him something like that), as you enter the New Jerusalem and get attacked by the MSF, should say that he found a special flash card on the destroyed station, one that can change the ID of your ship. But to use it, he should be present on your ship (if he's not already there, obviously) so usually telling him to dock is enough to fend the agression off (you get automatically destroyed on the fourth wave, so, if you're capable to hold off for that long, it's usually better to do it after the third wave).

Still waiting for the expansion for the 3rd game, overall would rank 1st, 3rd then 2nd. 2nd had to much bugs not a bad story. 3rd one seems to have more branching options that decides what cap ship you end up with. There are some mods for 3rd that I also recomend, they make the game more interesting compared to vanilla, Mothership mod being one of them.

Is it some kind of a furry game?

Do a barrel roll.

Over the last few years I've picked up all the Star Wolves games out of bargain bins and I've never gotten around to playing any of them. I used to love games like these but I dunno. One of these days...

I am about to finish this game. Star Wolves #1 was good, #2 sucked donkey balls, but #3 is good once again, probably the best. The translation is not too bad. There are some minor annoyances, such as a bit of interface lag and a movement indicator that sin't always correct, but otherwise the game plays very smooth.

This is technically an open world game where you can travel around the galaxy, but there's not really much to do, and the game luckily allows you to skip a lot of the traveling and jump directly to the next story location. Level design is probably the game's weakest aspect, especially compared to the first game in the series. Every system is more or less the same, and there are no tactical considerations to the layout of a star system. This is sad because the first game actually had some interesting maps.

One word of warning: You're going to be doing a lot of save-scumming, because it's very easy to lose a ship if it's being chased by more than one aggressor, and ships are really expensive. There are also some irritating scripted sequences where for instance an entire fleet instantly appears in front of you out of nowhere. Scouting ahead and stealth are not very useful in this game.

Also I don't know what Pope Amole was smoking when he compared it to Fallout. Star Wolves is good, but the two are not really comparable.

:4/5:

I had more fun with this game than Stick of Truth and Underrail's Deep Caverns, the two most recent RPGs I played this year. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone, but especially someone who likes RPGs as well as the RTS Homeworld.

I cheated on the last mission because it's basically impossible to beat the level without anti-laser armor on each ship. You can't just go to a store and buy a half dozen of the same equipment. You have to shop around and hope 1 or 2 are in stock. This takes hours.

The friendly capital ships in this level also don't assist in the final push at the end.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Depends which final mission you got. I think there are 3 or 4 (maybe more).
Also did you get the templar ships? They're the best in the game and you can only get them in one system where you usually don't have a reason to go to.

And IMO the first game was the best, in 3 they didn't do enough with the open world, it often feels empty and you waste too much time flying around then they dump a scripted scene at you.

Too bad the 4th game got cancelled.

Beat the first two and they were great. The third one is a boring piece of shit tho. Tried to play it 3 times and it was a pointless slog all 3 times. Left the game on some mined asteroid field bullshit.
