You mean, the oversaturated ENB mods hiding all the 2002 Gamebyro engine tech limitations? Skyrim looks like crap, and looked like crap when it came out. It was already outdated, due to limitation of consoles it was designed to and Bethesda being cheap, and instead of developing or buying a new engine, they decided to dress up a technologically limited engine. The Twitcher 3 (and 2) are also somewhat limited and probably will be limited to keep playable even the new consoles, but its core engine is far more advanced than the Skyrim's glitchy crap, that can't even do a proper shadow for a tree.

Basically you are implying that a Windows 95 with proper user created theme could function as well as Windows 7 or 8.

Only type of games that look okay in Gamebryo are tower defense/strategy games where you're zoomed out most of the time.
