You have to go out and find these missions on your own... if the game just gave them to you, it wouldn't be much of a doom clock would it?Welp, don't know what I did wrong, but the doom clock started. Then for 20 days as it counts down, I don't get one single mission to stop/slow the clock.
WTF game?

Also, sometimes shit needs "corpses" to build something...You need 3 hoo-ha corpses to build this "thing"
Great! How do I view my Inventory of corpses (besides flying to the Black Market (sell) and back)? I don't see a way.
How do I view my inventory at all without going to the Black Market?
Some of the design decisions are just retarded.

It is not a problem to use explosives just make sure you finish them with shootersAlso, sometimes shit needs "corpses" to build something...You need 3 hoo-ha corpses to build this "thing"

You can view your inventory through the engineering tab, it has a Inventory subtab.
I did make the mistake of going on ambush missions with rockets and flame throwers, and apparently missions where you get corpses are not common.
Throw a grenade and try to not hit cover. What's the deal with the civilians standing around, messing up my advancement through cover? Any way to make them move without blowing cover?
Yes, that is what I do. And LOS are less if device you need to hack is inside a building.I did some more savescumming but only to find the positions where my stealth hacker can see and hack the objective from range. I got the mod installed that is supposed to show me these positions but it does not work always so savescumming is only way to do this shit. LOS problems are so irritating in this game.
For the most part I've found hack the workstation or retrieve the data cache to have few LOS issues since it's mostly intuitive - you need direct line of sight to the actual device, and step out counts. The usual strategy, for a stealth approach, is to find the magic spot where there is LOS to the device and is open to evac (not indoors or covered), then go to a blind spot out of enemy vision to throw the flare on that spot, hopefully not get found until the flare drops, and then move hack and leave same turn so whatever you activated by moving is no problem. Sometimes the blind spot is directly adjacent to the building if you're lucky, sometimes you have to use a roof, sometimes it's just not possible to do it safely.
The real LOS issues that vex me are the ones related to doors and vehicles.
What? I have not seen mentioned anywhere strategic layer being reworked?!It sems to me, the game sets you up to fail if you follow the "objectives" faithfully.

Pretty much. I dunno if that's intentional or just how imbalanced it is now.
Personally I'm not that invested in my 1.1 campaign because I know there is substantial work being done rebalancing the strategic layer. The game currently incents playing in a very counterintuitive, and kinda unfun way - 0% columns and raids. What I do enjoy right now is the moment to moment of the early game, and perfecting my small squad stealth approaches.
Do you know any details? You have to watch the beta testers.
