Is the series worth playing?

That would be pretty stupid you wouldn't understand a thing and there is no point in playing the saga if you are not in it for the whole story, the first part is ok i kinda prefer the cutesy char designs in the first game to the derpy looking ones in the second but the second game has the more interesting battle system definitely play them on pcsx2 if you can turbo button is a godsend especially in the second game where a simple battle can take a upwards of a few minutes, the second which is the most flawed is also the shortest and can be powered through easily in 10-15h if you know what you are doing, the third part is sort of the payoff it does everything right has the best designs and battle system and the ending is truly epic if you played trough all the parts.

Btw there is an uncensored iso of episode 3 (the other parts are fine 1 has a scene censored but it's not really noticeable, 3 on the other hand has some stupid censoring) it's pretty easy to find google is your friend.
There are some minor game fixes you need if you decide to play in pcsx2, they are to be found in the pcsx2 wiki entry's for the games.

Xenosaga is shit. It's trying to be Xenogears while all the while spending to much effort not being it.

The only good thing is the music, imo. It's very different from 'gears' but in a good way.

If only Square hadn't held onto the rights of 'gears, they could have continued on with the plans set out in Perfect Works for the rest of the series.

Xenosaga has the deepest story in the history of gaming.

If you mean by convoluted, then yes.

Also including human civilization in it ruins things. One of the neat things about Xenogears was how it was self-enclosed off in a unknown planet in space. It freed it from a lot of baggage and allowed it to be its own thing without coming off as ludicrous in places.

I was obviously joking^^
Anyway i enjoyed them for what they are a cheesy mecha/space opera with pseudo philosophical and religious drivel mixed in similar in tone to neon genesis (which was obviously a heavy influence on these games)
If you don't like that or don't like to watch long cut scenes stay away simple as that.
I will not argue that Xengears is the better game (and it would be even more if they had actually finished it instead of rushing the second disc and be done) but i enjoyed the saga nonetheless and even replay them from time to time.

This can be helped via watching cuscenes on youtube but I mean will I lost much gameplay-wise or maybe there are some benefits of importing save files bewteen gaemz.

Gameplay wise? i liked it well enough but that's just me you likely need to decide that for yourself, as i said if you think the battles are slow there is always the turbo button at least the games have no random encounters, dungeons are pretty nice and there are sidequests as well and yes you get some bonuses for importing your game in to the next one as well.
