Here comes the last episode in our saga, in which Krazy Kwanzanian Kapitalizts nearly destroy the world. The ultimate victory of Socialism is all the more surprising due to the idiocy of the Robo-Stalin left in charge of the Kremlin, who sat on a giant stockpile of nukes whilst only dropping two or three on the enemy. It did, however, add to the overall tension.
第七章: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Now, all that remains to be done is to mop up the remains of the fascist empire.
Not quite, Comrade. The fascists are out of the game, as it were. Their surrender is imminent. But a greater danger looms ahead -- our coming clash with the imperialists. Britain should not pose too serious a threat -- the United States, on the other hand, is surrounded by a nearly impassable barrier -- the Atlantic. We should consider our long-term strategy against this foe.
We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, let us focus on our immediate challenges.
(Meanwhile, in Dusseldorf)
Mein time has finally come! Veez Hitler out of ze vay, I vill lead Deutschland to its Endsieg!
Hermann can be excused for his loose grip on reality, of course, on account of him being a morphinist. In fact, his German Reich has already been split in two -- a northern pocket around Düsseldorf, and a southern pocket around Austria and Bavaria.
The few remnants of his battered forces, a rag-tag bunch of devoted but hopelessly delusional fascist goons, is powerless faced with the unrelenting push of the People's Armies.
Chinese and Soviet troops reach the unmanned French-German border unopposed, capturing a number of abandoned Siegfried and Maginot fortifications unchallenged...
Meanwhile, in Japan, the Chinese landing force makes solid progress against the Americans, struggling to move past Tokyo and wrest control of the rest of the Island from them.
Finally, German defenses give way, as Goering's thousand-minute Reich crumples up like a piece of paper. It all ends as Goering's subordinates, fed up with fighting for a lost cause, depose him and sue for peace with the Soviets. On March 24, 1948, Germany surrendered unconditionally.
Two foes remain -- to the East, Kwanzani-occupied France, acting as a Beachhead for the imperialists in the region. To the south, Italy, the last bastion of fascism. Success would require balancing one's efforts to allow neither of the combattants to gain the upper hand, eliminating both in one fell swoop. Troops are hastily rushed into France to fill the new front line, whilst American marines begin to land at the main Atlantic harbors, intent on gaining a foothold on the continent.
Return to Croatioa!
Return to Bulgarioa!
With most of the Balkans secure, Communist forces converge on the Italian peninsula from both sides. The prize is a nuclear and rocket test site located in Florence, which will provide invaluable assistance in the production of nuclear weapons.
Bertorelli, you stronzo! Now they are-a attacking from botha-da sides! How am-I supposed to spread-a da fascism with-a idiots like-a you!
Mamma Mia! What a mistake-a to make-a. Dottore, do you think you can make-a da bomb on-a time?
(I can't take zis any longer...)
Meanwhile, Chinese troops make a dash for the strategically important Ryukyu islands. Controlling these islands will deprive the Americans of a privileged base from which to lead bombing raids against the Mainland.
These successes are replicated on all other fronts: in France, the Kwanzanis are relentlessly pushed back towards the Atlantic...
...as they are in Finland.
In Italy, the extraordinary efforts of the People's Army allows them to beat the British to the punch, closing in on Florence and its strategic nuclear facilities, dashing Italian hopes of a war-winning nuclear strike.
However, in this era of proliferation, one would be wrong to single out one foe alone. Nazi scientists fleeing their just punishment have found refuge with new Masters, and are ready to put their deadly knowledge to the test...
You see, Mein Führer... zat is ze entire point of nuclear deterrence. If ze had a bomb, ze only sink zat preventink ze reds from bombing us right now... vould be massive retaliation on our part.
But they do not, don't they, old chap?
No... not yet, at least. Zis means you could theoretically vipe zem off ze map... however, be forewarned, Mein Führer; zis state of affairs vill not last indefinitely. You must vipe zem out completely, or not at all.
Then do so, man! I can't allow my old friend Benito to fall to the Reds. At least, not before I've burnt my correspondence with him.
In zat case... a series of strikes meant to break zeir vill should suffice. Civilian targets... first and foremost.
Comrade! Bad news! We have reports of another nuclear bomb. It has been dropped not far from Chongqing.
This is a worrying development. This bomb cannot possibly have been dropped by fascists; no, the plane that dropped it must have operated from one of the airbases in British India.
Comrade Chairman is correct. I have had reports of sightings of British aircraft entering our airspace.
We must ramp up the development of our airforce, develop our air bases and station interceptors around the perimeter of our People's Republic. We cannot allow these butchers to murder any more innocents!
Meanwhile, the invasion of Italy carries on apace. A number of old friends from Manchukuo turn up on the way, and are given the beating they reserve.
The development of the People's Navy also makes great strides towards becoming a modern fighting force. Though weak in a pitched battle, Chinese destroyer flotillas and light cruisers are very adept at raiding enemy convoys, and even managed to sink a Japanese battleship. The fact that the battleship had a silly name made it all the more rewarding.
Bertorelli, you incompetent fool! Now we're-a surrounded!
Ehh -- don't-a worry, Duce! I'll-a think of something!
You better use your
direct intellection to get us out-a this-a mess!
With Rome surrounded, the fate of fascism is sealed. Meanwhile, much progress is being made in the development of a sizeable airforce.
Faced with chronic fuel shortages, the People's Army must also seek old solutions to modern problems. A number of cavalry divisions are formed for the purpose of rapid Kebab Removal in the more troublesome and rebellious parts of the People's Republic, where reactionary elements funded by foreign agitators rise up periodically.
With the main threat in the West now neutralized, we can once again focus our attention on Asia. I intend to carry out a plan I have been developing for a long time, and which has finally become a practical possibility.
Yes, spreading the Revolution to Vietnam is the way forward. They are a freedom-loving people that can no longer bear the boot of imperialism. Uniting them in our great family will be a great triumph!
Chinese marines are landed near Hanoi, from where they advance virtually unopposed by the British. Some British armored divisions, completely unsuited to jungle warfare, are utterly defeated by the lightly-armored Marines.
When suddenly...
A second bomb? Will this madness ever cease?
We are already building bombs of our own, Comrade, thanks to the captured enemy facilities in Germany and Italy. Let them dig their own graves -- China and the Soviet Union are vast in size, but Britain has far more to lose.
(In London)
[Writing]
Dear Benito, I hope you are feeling well. So sorry to hear the Reds have you cornered in Rome. Will continue dropping bombs on the Asiatic hordes until they surrender. Yours Truly, W. Churchill.
But for all their bombs, the imperialists could not contain the turning of the Wheel of History. The forces of international fascism surrendered on November 30, 1948.
Japan, however, was soon lost to the Americans, who had shipped reinforcements to the area, and Vietnam was finally secured.
The definitive annexation of all previously Japanese-occupied land provided an invaluable boost to the Chinese war effort -- industrial production soared, matching that of Germany during the war, and the country had access to an almost inexhaustible supply of manpower. All that remained was to put these strengths to good use in the coming conflict.
The British, meanwhile, carried on in their terror bombing campaign...
Western Europe is now secure, Comrade. However, I would like to ask you for some advice on one small matter.
What is it, Comrade?
There is the matter of Spain... counter-revolutionaries though they may be, they have avoided taking sides so far. What do you think?
Franco is an Enemy of the People and must be deposed! His defection to the Allied side is inevitable. I say we strike the iron while it is hot.
Now, now, señores, let's not be too rash... I was always on your side, honest!
Horseshit. You are an opportunist who only cares to save his own skin. You already chose your side when you rose up against your legitimate government in 1936!
Let bygones be bygones, meester Stalin, yes? Thees ees bery complex thing. Deed I tell you about the time I was in North Africa and...
Enough! Get him!
Meanwhile, Chinese marines land on Japan again, intent on capturing the island for once and for all!
Will no-one rid me of these turbulent Commies?
Just press ze red button, Mein Führer... repeat as needed.
Once again, British bombers make it past Chinese defences, causing widespread destruction on targets in Mainland China.
A bomb -- on Stalin Town, no less? That's it. That does it. Now you've pissed off Jugashvili.
Soviet bombers set out to retaliate -- striking at London itself, only a short flight away across the Channel!
This wasn't part of the plan, Strangelove!
Mein Führer, I have an idea... Mein Führer,
I can valk!
As London is pulverized under the force of two nuclear bombs, their fill to fight plummets. Any further Soviet strikes, they understand, could potentially put an end to all life on Great Britain.
The Kwanzanis lead counter-strikes, but in vain;
...on October 24, 1950, Great Britain surrendered, knocking out the leader of the imperialist allies in one fell swoop and putting an end to Allied presence in Yoorup. Kwanzani bankers rapidly leap to the opportunity, ready to take up the mantle of leaders of the world of FREEDUMB.
If there's something I hate... it's Hobbit Lords. Hobbit Lords in Mordor.
Under Kwanzani leadership, the imperialist forces begin to nuke Corsica, the last bastion of fascist Vichy France, into a pulp.
LIBERALS! You won't get me!
Five LIBERAL bombs failed to break the indomitable will of Hobbit Lord and his
fascists non-liberals. Probably because the Kwanzanis were not targetting the actual capital but, you know, Murricans cannot into geography.
Haha! Whee! I fucking love nukes!
The key to defeating the Kwanzanians is to deprive them of their bases. Without bases from which to launch their aeroplanes, they will be powerless; this is of the utmost importance.
Yes; expelling them from Japan will help secure the Chinese coast.
This time, the invasion of Japan is successful, and the country is liberated for once and for all!
We cannot stop here. We must consider how to strike at our foe.
Hopping across the islands in the Pacific would be a way to bring the fight directly to them. With our increasing mastery over the skies and the waves in Asia, I believe this plan has become feasible. Let us consider our course of action...
The first phase would involve advancing towards Midway island by capturing Iwo Jima, Marcus Island and Wake Island in sequence. The next step would be to attack Honolulu and, from there, Central America.
Unfortunately, extensive American defenses made the first attempted landings a failure. A lack of purpose-built landing craft contributed to this failure, and Chinese leadership immediately set out to remedy this by building a fleet of invasion craft.
Meanwhile...
It's all over,
amigo. For too long you've been a Spain in the ass, but now you've messed with the wrong Georgian.
Enough! I can't take anymore of your dreadful puns, Meester!
Franco-ly, I don't give a damn
Aaaaaargh!
Faced with the difficulty of capturing the Pacific islands, a number of attempts are made to gain a foothold in America; however, attempts to support a rebellion in Cuba fail, despite the best attempts of Chinese spies.
(Meanwhile)
Now, who shall I liberate today? (checks map)
Ooooooookaay... these guys are officially too dumb to live. It's time for Socialism, literacy and indoor plumbing, bitches!
What? More SOWSHULIZM? Gimme mah RED BUTTON!
The Kwanzanis had recently captured Taiwan in a lightning raid, allowing their areoplanes to reach the Mainland once again. What followed was a series of deadly bombing raids against the historical capital of Nanjing, and an inexplicable flurry of bombs dropped on Memel.
Eliminating any last possible allied footholds on the Eurasian landmass was the top priority for the Communist forces. To this end, they decided to remove one of the last possible partners of imperialism -- it was time to Remove Kebab.
Meanwhile, Chinese marines landed on Taiwan in a desperate bid to recapture it and put an end to the American bombing raids.
With the loss of their last possible base from which to bomb China and the Soviet Union, the Kwanzanis lost heart. For all the senseless violence and ferocity they had displayed, the indomitable will of the proletariat had prevailed, achieving their objectives despite the slaughter of millions. The war, it seemed, had become a waste of time, life and money, and the war-weary American public forced the government to consider peace.
Largely isolated on the American continent, the imperialists finally agreed to sit down at the negotiating table.
China has been bombed with nuclear weapons nine times, and yet it has not only survived, but also prevailed. Has the Soviet Union itself not been bombed ten times, with much loss of life, only for the imperialists to be inexorably swept aside? I have said that all the reputedly powerful reactionaries are merely paper tigers. The reason is that they are divorced from the people. Look! Was not Hitler a paper tiger? Was Hitler not overthrown? I also said that the tsar of Russia, the emperor of China and Japanese imperialism were all paper tigers. As we know, they were all overthrown. And now, U.S. imperialism has not yet been overthrown and it has the atom bomb, but I believe it also will be overthrown. It, too, is a paper tiger.
Truer words were never spoken. But now, Comrade, I am afraid that I must depart from this world. I hereby name you my successor; let there be no rifts or divisions between the Soviet Union and China; the workers of the world must stand as one at this time. With the industrial heartland of Western Europe secure, with the vast expanses of the Eurasian landmass and much of Africa liberated, Socialism in its true form can finally develop, after the hard task of rebuilding has been completed. Kwanzania, on the other hand, will inevitably languish, deprived of resources to plunder to feed the rapacity of its capitalists, trapped in its American prison; its client nations will soon tire of it, and the entire system will collapse on its own. You must be ready for this time and to accept the workers and peasants of the Americans into our great Soviet Union. Tolerate no revisionists or deviationists -- and watch out for Khrushchev!
I will do as you say. Farewell, Comrade!
