Tags: Stygian Software; UnderrailUnderrail is an isometric turn-based single-character RPG set in the underground metro tunnels of a post-apocalyptic Earth. Described by some as an "isometric Deus Ex", its complex character building and finely crafted systems and world have earned it a fanatical fanbase on our forums.
The brainchild of Serbian programmer Dejan "Styg" Radisic, Underrail has been in development since late 2008. Starting out as a real-time-with-pause game entitled Timelapse Vertigo, the game received its current name in early 2012, and was converted to turn-based shortly afterwards, with the encouragement of the Codex. Already a cult favorite even then, after the game's Steam Early Access release in September 2013, Styg was able to hire additional help to make it even better.
Now, over two years of development and polish later, Underrail is finally here. Here's the game's trailer again, and a description:
Underrail is an old school turn-based isometric indie role playing game that focuses on exploration and combat.
The game is set in a distant future, when the life on the Earth’s surface has long since been made impossible and the remnants of humanity now dwell in the Underrail, a vast system of metro station-states that, it seems, are the last bastions of a fading race.
The player takes control of one of the denizens of such a station-state whose life is about to become all that much more interesting and dangerous, as our protagonist is caught midst the conflicting factions of the Underrail as the violently struggle to survive in the harsh underground environment.
Underrail is available for the low price of $15 on Steam and GOG, minus 10% launch discount. For incline's sake, buy it now.
