Tags: Baldur's Gate 3; Larian Studios; Swen VinckeYou may have noticed that there hasn't been any news about Baldur's Gate 3 since the game received its last major update back in February. What have Larian been up to over the past few months? GameSpot decided to ask Swen Vincke that question as part of their recent two day Play For All Live stream. Apparently the studio has been very busy, but the game's next update is "around the corner". The update will be focused more on features than on new content, with an emphasis on combat and in particular the melee classes, which Swen says aren't interesting enough right now. In the longer term, there are big things coming to Baldur's Gate 3 and according to Swen, players who only saw the initial Early Access release might be shocked by how different it will look by the end.
The most important takeaway from the interview is that Baldur's Gate 3 is now officially not coming out this year. Larian are aiming for a release in 2022, but Swen sounds like he's not entirely sure about that either.
