There's a preview of Bard's Tale at PC.IGN with some fun stuff in it like this:

The main drive behind the new iteration of The Bard's Tale is to create an RPG for an older audience. The Bard's Tale will not be aimed at youngins with immature writing and a simple game world. Instead, Brian and the team at InXile set out to make an RPG that would cater to an older audience (after all, the average age of gamers these days is 29, and RPG players skew even higher...especially those who have fond memories of The Bard's Tale).

I love it when previews toss something out like this with no follow up explanation as to how this will be done.
