Pirates Ahoy has a nice follow up interview with Alexander Shcherbakov of Akella about Pirates of the Caribbean. Here's the fun part, and it only gets more fun after this:


PA!: How did Sea Dogs 2 become POTC?

Oh, it's a long story. I'll tell you the short one. Disney liked our game, got in touch with Bethesda Softworks, and finally they came to us, saying that Sea Dogs II must be transformed into the Pirates of the Caribbean . It was a quite an experience, and we obtained more audience, but to tell the truth, most of the team hated the idea of this kind of metamorphosis. You know, the game was almost finished…​

I can't say I was happy to hear about it myself. Not sure too many people were.
