A long time ago, when Redania thought it could treat Kovir and Poviss - you'll find them on the map, a little to the north - as its fiefdoms, Radovid III felt a particular dislike to the disproportion between the payments received by his labourers and those of his neighbours, who earned three times as much. This dislike caused him to impose upon Temeria and Kaedwen to declare a toll war and to take his armies and cross the river Braa. Only a week later, he returned to his own realm with just half of his troops... And 25 years later, Kovir is mining more natural resources than Temeria, Redania and Aedirn put together, exporting materials to the dwarves of Mahakam, and doing pretty good. What does this whole story prove? That wars are won by those who can afford them.Read the rest here.
