RPG Vault has posted Developer Diary #4 for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This time, it covers the nature of good and apparently other good in it:

The dark side of the Force has traditionally been the easier path to power, but it demands much once the follower is hooked. For those who read that last sentence and saw only "power", there's a rough road ahead, but that's all right. Not everyone is cut out to be the selfless hero, and desperate people don't care if their savior is a little rough around the edges, a little twisted with rage, or if the cure proves worse than the disease. In fact, since the discipline of the light side is much more of a help as a character progresses, it's almost as if the dark side denizen becomes a bit of an underdog. And everyone loves the underdog, right? Well they'd better.

Sometimes you root for the bad guy. There are many ways to fall away from the light side of the Force in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. We're making sure of it.

There you have it, bad guy = savior. Come on, someone act surprised here.
