Yes, we are aware of the fact that Sawyer hates Baldur's Gate. That is why he is the lead designer of PoE, the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate.

Makes total sense.

And how, when he was a mid-level designer with Black Isle, he wanted to make BG3, and then spent ages trying to do it as his personal side-project with 'The Black Hound'.

You mean back when he was also bashing the BGs and how he was gonna take out all the shit stuff (99% of the game according to him) and make it better? LMFAO He does the same with the FOs too. Bashes them nonstuff, plans to change 99% of the game then his fanboys claims he likes the FOS. LMFAO

You know, up until a few weeks ago, I considered this game something that I might eventually check out, despite everything.
Now with all this "Meet this, meet that" immature nonsense, they made me realize that I genuinely wouldn't be interested even in a "free ride".

Honestly, guys like me are not the target audience, anymore. That much is obvious and, to be fair, even legit.
Still, it used to be that CRPGs could be played by anyone, with no age limit.
I really don't see why they felt the need to restrict themselves to a specific demographic, but well, to each their own.
One less thing to keep track of for me.

Interplay had already lost the D&D licence by then. So he had to make his own system.

Not me, though. Probably once it's in a humble bundle perhaps. But not before.
The last time around, there is a dearth of games around, so we still going to buy shit games to tide us over.
Now, with a lot of good RPG games coming around, there's is no need to buy this joke.
If we want to just cringe over the awkward conversations in that game, that's what youtube is for.

Also won't be playing it. Dragon Age 1 was already bad enough - it started out deceptively good but quickly devolved into some of the most boring dungeon crawling I've ever experienced, without any good story, writing or questing to redeem the shitty combat encounters. Completely skipped DA2, after hearing it was even worse. Will do the same for DA3. 2014 is the year of incline, why would I play this piece of shit when good RPGs are being released and more are on the horizon?

I will most likely play it, but I have never whined about every single detail so the point is moot.

Might even do a codex review if I feel for it at the time of release. (If I'm not abroad at the time)

Personally I am still undecided.

I liked DA:O despite its shortcomings and I thought that DA:2 had lot of potential, but unfortunately the execution of said ideas sucked.
I think that DA:I will be mixed bag for me. I will probably end up getting it after finishing new shadowrun series, divinity series, bannersaga, wasteland 2 and Project eternity.

when the incline slows down, even crap will start to get appealing.
i am seriously considering buying this. it would be my first (bought) bioware game in a decade.

even now this looks like it will be sleazy drama full of cliches and absurdly bad characters but i think i need to support inclusion gay characters in games :D

DA2 was the worst AAA RPG I've played in my life.

And I really liked DA:O.

Not sure what to make of DA3 yet. They seem to have learned from some mistakes but after DA2 my trust levels aren't high. Still can't forget enemies falling from the sky, ffs.

Enemies falling from the sky is your biggest complaint in a game that calls itself a RPG?

I will play this series as long as there is no other western RPG with romancing.

I'm not even going to steal this. That bandwidth could be better used for porn that doesn't preach to me.

Eh.
Enemies falling from sky could be awesome encounter in some rpgs, but bioware even butchered that idea.
:decline:

Orcs riding on rockets and dual wielding flame axes sounds fantastic falling from sky enemy.
Naturally axes will have FIRE BEAM attack and they can use them 3 times per encounter.

This thread is like peeking through a window to insane asylum. Came to have a laugh, got cold shivers instead. Like one of those things mentioned in Sir-tech thread.

There's only one interesting thing left: technical side of the game. I can't wait to see if the coders are just as insanely dumb as the individuals responsible for writing and presentation. Enough intelligence AT LEAST to modify the default rendering options of the engine? To make clear, sharp pseudo- isometric view? To make something that deserves to be run on 2014 hardware? Can't wait to see the outcome. As a LP at Youtube. When I'll be drunk enough to endure the dialogues.

Think about it this way: if DA:O had issues with the heaps of trash encounters in between the few interesting ones, what DA2 did was essentially triple each and every one of those with waves upon waves of enemies and turn them into recurring nodes of "content". Its like the whole game is about going back and forth the Fade where encounters happen at the same points and three times each. The best way to summarize this travesty?
DragonAge2_Ceiling_Enemies_DA2.jpg+original.jpg

The slapdash execution, of course.

All bears are toys.

And I'm going to play this shitty game and, hopefully, I'll be able to screw with the companions I hate.

I'm going to play it and I'm not going to lie about it. I liked Origins a good bit.
I'm going to ignore you and I'm not going to lie about it. After I see the screens at high details . If you're going to waste your time, at least do something valuable to society and make a LP.
